Each year, the Canadian Automobile Association publishes its guide to list thousands of businesses related to the tourism world, including hotels, inns and restaurants. The CAA has unveiled the winners of the highest scores for 2013 and, surprise, a new one makes its appearance in the perfect class Five Diamond.
Quebec City La Tanière, after receiving the Four Diamonds for the past four years, was awarded perfect by CAA inspectors’ note.
This is the second good news in some time to this restaurant. Lately, chef Frédéric Laplante was named Quebec City’s Chef of the Year at the Quebec Association of Chefs and pastry.
The mission of the chef and co-owner Karen Therrien is serving a menu rich in flavor and reflected on the nutritional plan.
The owners will join the select and very limited group of Five Diamonds. The restaurants Toqué! (Montreal), Baccara (Gatineau) and Initiale (Quebec City) are actually the only other Five Diamonds quoted by the CAA.
Of all the institutions identified in North America by the CAA (and AAA in the United States), and there are 60 000, only 0.27 % have the Five Diamonds.
