It is now possible to bring back the wine bottle bought at the restaurant

Restaurant owners quite often requested that customers can bring back their wine bottle at home: the law was finally changed earlier this week. Some conditions apply...

The Régie des alcools du Québec announced this week that changes to legislation were made to enable customers to take home an unfinished bottle of wine if sealed. And it is not possible to do it with a new unopen bottle.

This change applies only to wines.

That is in regards of safety that restaurants have recently put a lot of pressure on the government to change the law. They do not want customers feel compelled to finish the bottle, much less having to drive afterwards.

By buying your next bottle of wine priced as huge as $ 200, for example, worry no more if you do not feel able to finish! And especially do not force yourself to do it ... Instead, ask the waiter to close it well and place it safely under your arm to return home!
