In this new edition of Fast Delivery, let us describe the arrival of La Cage in Europe, the arrival of a laboratory-made chicken breast and the opening of a new microbrewery in Sillery.

First, La Cage, this popular Quebec sports brasserie, will open its first branch outside Quebec, more precisely in Bordeaux, in June. The establishment will broadcast football, rugby and hockey matches, while offering signature dishes such as chicken wings and the burger. La Cage has also partnered with Boulangerie Ange, a French chain of bakeries. The project had been postponed to 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

La Cage is a subsidiary of Groupe Grandio, which operates more than 55 branches in Quebec under various banners, including La Cage, Cochon Dingue and Ciel!.

Second, UPSIDE Food has won Food and Drug Administration approval for its lab-produced chicken breast, and some U.S. restaurants may offer this type of product as early as 2023. However, companies need to increase product volumes and overcoming consumer reluctance before synthetic meat hits the grocery store shelves. Singapore is currently the only country to allow the sale of synthetic meat.

Finally, Le Saint-Colomb is a new microbrewery located on Avenue Maguire in Sillery, which is inspired by the Irish history of the neighborhood. The owners, Marc Boutet and Amélie Chabot, who also own a café and a creamery in the neighborhood, have dreamed of this project for a long time and have visited dozens of microbreweries, particularly in the United States, to find inspiration. The name of the microbrewery is a nod to the Irish who settled in Sillery in the mid-1800s. The first two beers from the microbrewery were Charcotte, a pilsner, and a white fruit beer. The beers will be produced in the basement of the building that previously housed a Subway. The menu proposed by chef Guillaume Langlais includes plates to share and snacks, including an excellent nachos and grilled cheese with braised beef. The microbrewery has 56 seats inside and a heated terrace to accommodate around twenty people on sunny days. The owners want to energize the street and bring nightlife to Maguire.
