Since October is National Pizza Month, Pizza Pizza chain surveyed Canadians from coast to coast to try to discover their preferences. The results differ from one province to another, which is not a surprise, but everyone agrees that the pizza is loved across the country. Here are some highlights from the survey:
Let's start with the filling. What do women prefer on their pizza? Cheese (53%) . And the men? Pepperoni (51%). In the Maritimes, the ground beef sits at the top of the list.
Pizza doesn’t usually come alone. In Quebec, it is with French fries (53 %) that the pizza married more often. In Ontario, it is with a dip (34% ), while Quebecers do so only in 7 % of cases. In the West, bread sticks was added in 24% in Alberta and 25 % in British Columbia.
With the results divided by province, Quebec consumers seem more traditional: Hawaiian pizza is not popular (6 %) and three out of four Quebecers have never eaten pizza at breakfast. Note that 30% of Canadians sometimes have it to start their day! On the other hand, 62% of pizza lovers in the Prairies eat it cold.
Finally, Canadians still order the pizza in the old fashion way: by phone. They ignore online orders at the moment. Probably because they never ordered via restoenligne.com!
Do you think this survey is indicative of your taste in pizza?
