Despite the pandemic that has turned the entire restaurant industry upside down and the dining rooms in most regions of Quebec are still closed, some restaurateurs are still in investment mode! We have several openings in recent weeks, or the next, and also acquisitions!
Olivier Primeau
Businessman and influencer Olivier Primeau will now open a pizzeria. His Slice Gang Pizza business is set to open overnight in Sainte-Thérèse, will feature New York style with 30-inch pizzas on the menu, and will have a special focus on delivery and take-out. There will also be full pizzas, slices, salads, house sauces and Slice Gang craft beers. Primeau says he wants to open chains elsewhere in Canada and even in the United States.
Asian
At the beginning of November, La Canting started up despite the closure of the dining rooms. Located in Montreal, the restaurant will offer twisted Asian dishes in order to get out of preconceived ideas about Chinese food. The two owners had been working on the concept for several months before the pandemic delayed their plan. They decided to launch the business despite the uncertainties.
Küto
The twentieth branch of the Küto tartar chain opened its doors in mid-November in Quebec City. Special feature of this franchise: the car order. Küto offers around fifteen original recipes with salmon, tuna, beef, shrimp and vegetarian, while trying to get as far away from the classics as possible.
La Cage in Trois-Rivières
Two entrepreneurs from Trois-Rivières took over orders from La Cage Brasserie Sportive and once again welcomed customers on December 1st. Last July, this branch closed its doors due to financial difficulties. In addition, the Sportscene Group announced that the establishment no longer met their standards. The new duo have renovated the interior of the restaurant but currently offer delivery and take out orders.
Fromagerie Victoria
Fromagerie Victoria's expansion process continues as the fifteenth branch will open in Beauport in the coming days. The company, which will be celebrating its 75th anniversary next year, offers cheese and poutine, a take-out store, a dairy and even drive-thru.
