Open dining rooms: headaches and final closings

Open dining rooms: headaches and final closings

The good news of the government to allow the reopening of restaurants pleased many restaurateurs, but some had to see the truth in the face: welcoming customers again while respecting the required sanitary measures became impossible. Some may therefore have to delay the reopening of their dining room somewhat, while other leaders have left the door permanently.
On the one hand, the dining room of some establishments is too small to seat enough people and hope to be profitable, considering the costs of labor and products without forgetting a new major expense: new protective equipment required. Arranging a different dining room to make it interesting for the visitor is practically impossible.
Coping with this reduction remains an even greater challenge than the health measures imposed by public health.
So watch out for your little neighborhood restaurants: their dining room may not be open, but it's likely that their delivery service or takeout counter will still be in operation.
Closures
Other institutions have experienced this COVID-19 crisis more severely. This is why the announcements of closings are slowly but surely starting to make headlines.
This is the case for the famous Cosmos brand, which officially announced the closure of its Lévis establishment last week.
Worse still, the branch located on Grande-Allé is on sale. Only the Cosmos restaurants in Sainte-Foy and Lebourgneuf are still in operation.
One of the possible causes? The famous Canadian Emergency Benefit (CHP)!
