We are almost there. In just a few days, you'll need to get your proof of vaccination out if you want to settle into your favorite restaurant (and some other activities). We have prepared a little cheat sheet for you to help you prepare for the passport effective date, whether you agree or not!

It should be remembered that the vaccination passport will give properly vaccinated people access to certain places or activities, including restaurants. Also, people who have received a recognized contraindication to vaccination will be able to obtain access.

However, it will not be necessary to present it when ordering by car or at the take-out counter.
Use of the vaccination passport will begin on September 1. It will be required for anyone 13 years of age and over from that date, but no sanction will be imposed before September 15, leaving Quebecers a period of adaptation.

In addition to the vaccination passport, you will need to present a photo ID.

If you have an iPhone or Android smartphone, you can download the VaxiCode app and always have your proof with you.

But if you don't have a smartphone, you can print out the proof of vaccination containing the QR code given to you a few days after receiving your second dose.

Restaurant owners must install another app, VaxiCode Verif, which they will use to confirm your proof of vaccination and give you access to the dining room.

However, they will not be able to access any personal information when they use their application to authenticate your passport.

Moreover, restaurateurs will have to continue to maintain a register of customers in order to always allow the tracing of new cases. They will also need to provide a mobile device to reception staff in order to read clients' passports.

Pilot projects have taken place in some establishments in Quebec over the past few days and clients have all participated well despite the presence of protesters against the application of a health passport.

As for restaurateurs, most of them are happy to see that the system is quick and easy to use and that this passport will allow them to stay open and very likely avoid another closure of their dining room while the fourth wave is growing in Quebec.
