If you live outside of the Montreal Metropolitan Community (CMM), you can barely return to the dining room of your favorite restaurant for a few hours. After three months of waiting, we know you can't wait! But here is a reminder of how this reopening works.
Because the COVID-19 virus is not yet gone and that it will probably be necessary to learn to live with it, the government has allowed the reopening of dining rooms and terraces but by drafting a series of measures to follow, as much for restaurateurs as for their customers.
Here are the main measures:
In addition to the dining rooms and terraces of the restaurants, the dining rooms of the hotels and shopping centers are also open.
Only bars that offer a restaurant service are allowed to reopen.
When you arrive at the restaurant, you may be asked health questions (do you have symptoms like fever, dry cough, loss of smell, have you been in contact with someone sick?).
You will need to wash or disinfect your hands before entering the establishment.
The tables will be placed at a distance of two meters from each other.
Concerning groups, a maximum of ten people from three different residential addresses can be seated at one and the same table and people living at the same address must be seated nearby.
If this last instruction cannot be respected, they must be two meters away from other people at the table or be separated by transparent partitions like Plexiglas.
All items that can be handled by more than one person have been removed from the tables, such as salt and pepper and condiments.
Social distancing must be respected with the servers.
They are strongly recommended to wear a mask and a visor.
The government also suggests avoiding distributing a paper menu but rather posting it on a slate.
Finally, rest assured, the tables and chairs will be completely disinfected between each client.
Enjoy your meal and have a good visit!
