Today we present you with an overview of the new restaurants that have opened their doors all over Quebec in the last few weeks or that are planning to do so soon. Get ready, there is a lot of action in the restaurant world and there are many new projects!

First, two entrepreneurs will open a new Italian restaurant called Rafaella in early June in Quebec City. The menu will be both sophisticated and accessible to most pocketbooks, with Italian classics and lesser-known dishes such as fondues for the winter. The restaurant will have a capacity of approximately 130 seats and will be open every day of the week for lunch and dinner service. The décor will be a mix of classic and original elements, with noble materials such as wood and stone. Groupe Top Resto, which already owns several establishments with distinct concepts, will also be involved in this new project.

Also in Quebec City, Chicken & Bap is a Korean fried chicken restaurant owned by Sukmin Jang and Yuri Kim. They opened this restaurant in order to introduce the Korean culture to Quebecers. The Korean fried chicken is crispy thanks to its double frying and it is served with tasty sauces, such as sweet and sour sauce with gochujang. The restaurant also offers rice bowls and homemade kimchi. The chicken is fried to order to meet the chef's quality standards.

In Montreal, the basement of La Belle Tonkinoise was transformed into a new casual restaurant called "Eat in my Hood" during the pandemic. The menu includes burgers, home fries, poutine and a nostalgic atmosphere. This new restaurant is a departure from the Asian-Quebec cuisine of original owners Mitch Nguyen and Michel Lim. The smash burgers are made with double ground beef and minimal toppings, but they are tasty and delicious. The restaurant offers a selection of natural wines, microbrewery beers and exotic soft drinks. Eat in My Hood has retained the old La Belle Tonkinoise sign outside and plans to build patios in the front and back for customers to gather.

Finally, the American chain Shake Shack hopes to open in Canada in 2024, starting in Toronto. The chain is known for its gourmet menu of burgers, fries and shakes. Founded in 2004, Shake Shack now has 440 locations worldwide. The company aims to open 35 restaurants by 2035, although it is uncertain whether any of them will open in Quebec. Chick-fil-A also expressed similar interest in coming to Canada a few months ago.
