The large fast food chain McDonald's very rarely does things by halves, which means it is continually the talk of the town. In fact, a former chef for the chain recently raged on the networks about the Big Mac. Meanwhile, management has announced plans to remove liquor fountains…

So, this former McDonald's head chef, Mike Haracz, said on TikTok that the Big Mac is a scam and recommended ordering a McDouble with Big Mac toppings instead to save a few bucks.

He compared the ingredients of the McDouble (two beef patties, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard and a slice of cheese) with those of the Big Mac (two patties, pickles, lettuce, onions, a slice of cheese and a legendary sauce). He pointed out that the McDouble has a slice of cheese like the Big Mac, doesn't have a bun in the middle and is cheaper. Some netizens liked the tip, while others noted that some McDonald's charge more to add lettuce and Big Mac sauce to the McDouble, which Mike Haracz called dishonest.

Speaking of dishonesty, McDonald's plans to gradually phase out self-service liquor fountains in its restaurants and eliminate them by 2032 due to problems with theft, but also hygiene and changes in consumer habits.

However, the franchise ensures that top-ups will remain free for customers. The move will be to an automated system that pours drinks without requiring the press of a button, which should eliminate theft and provide a more restaurant-like experience.

Some franchise owners in Illinois have already begun removing soda fountains and stopping providing empty cups to customers, with adjustments needed. Other owners plan to follow this transition in the future, mainly in the United States at the moment.
