For this new edition of fast delivery, we have prepared a digest of news for you. We will try to find out where our river hides on our plates, we will talk about electric vehicle projects for St-Hubert and finally the opening of a new Stella pizzeria.
Let’s start with a question posed by researchers at the Institut de recherche en economique contemporain in their investigation of the fishing economy in Quebec: where is the river on our plates?

It seems that Quebec exports 81% of its marine products and imports 89% for consumption here. Why this difference? It seems like a great mix of production, distribution, markets and politics. In short, for a local fisherman, it is more profitable to export his products.

Despite everything, for environmental, ethical, economic, health and taste reasons, Quebecers are increasingly interested in local products, even those from the sea. However, it will take a more active involvement of governments to keep the wind going. .

St-Hubert

Significant investments from St-Hubert and its franchisees will be made over the next few years in order to increase the chain's total delivery cars to 50%, which will be electric.

Currently, 20% of cars are electric or hybrid.

Within five years, that number is expected to increase to 50% and even 100% in subsequent years. And by then, the company will set aside $ 200,000 to procure carbon credits and be able to boast a carbon neutral delivery service.

Stella pizzeria

Even if when her first restaurant Stella opened in Laurier, the owner had no intention of adding other branches, five years later, she was tempted by an opportunity on the Bélanger Street.

The two places are very similar. First, the restaurant is located in a family neighborhood, a large bay window overlooks a bright street corner, the interior offers an urban decor but above all gives a relaxed atmosphere and, thanks to the open area, it is possible to to see the cooks in action. There are around 100 seats inside and around 30 on the terrace.

As the restaurant enjoys a good reputation, the 20 available positions were filled quickly despite the labor shortage.
