In this new edition, we will study the expectations of restaurateurs for the summer season after this official National Day weekend, we will highlight the 40th anniversary of the St-Hubert de Jonquière and we will introduce you to the new restaurant-bar Le Roux de Bromont.

Let's start with the expectations of restaurateurs as the summer has just started in force with the weekend of the National Day of Quebec. Restaurants located along Autoroute 20 in Quebec experience a lucrative period during the summer holidays, with an increase of about 15% in turnover. Madrid 2.0 franchisees in Saint-Léonard-d'Aston are particularly concerned. Tourists and motorists taking a break to eat contribute to this traffic.

In Sainte-Julie, merchants near Highway 20 also expect traffic to increase by around 15% from June 23. The arrival of American tourists this year should double the clientele.

Restaurants in Eastern Quebec, such as those in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and Rivière-du-Loup, also benefit from this tourist season. The St-Hubert restaurant in Rivière-du-Loup is one of the busiest in the province during the summer.

The 2023 holiday period could break other records!

Let’s continue with the anniversary of the Rôtisserie St-Hubert de Jonquière, which celebrated its 40th anniversary on June 10 by recognizing the employees and a few retirements. The event took place in a joyful atmosphere and Mr. André Pelosse, the original franchisee, was moved by the attachment of staff and customers to the restaurant. Since its opening in July 1983, St-Hubert has quickly won the hearts of the people of Jonquière. The owners have always been involved in the community, supporting sporting events and donating meals. Employees also organize the annual Quillothon, which has raised more than $100,000 for local causes.

Let's conclude with the arrival in Bromont of an impressive new restaurant and bar with 90 seats inside and 120 seats on the terrace called Le Roux. This project is the work of Jean-Benoît Hinse and Michel Bérubé. Originally planned as a small, intimate establishment, Le Roux expanded its vision after discovering a spacious location in Bromont, near the highway. The restaurant offers serene views of a protected park and mountains, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Chef Rémy Gaudet, supported by sous-chefs Thomas Legault and Yannick Chartier, will create an enticing and diversified menu that will emphasize sharing and conviviality while paying particular attention to the supply of food. Le Roux will also host a producer on the terrace on Thursday evenings to showcase regional treasures. The wine cellar will offer classic and adventurous selections, with the possibility of eating in and buying to go. Le Roux will be open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., from Friday, June 30.
