Fast delivery: Eastern Townships special

Fast delivery: Eastern Townships special

Exceptionally, our rapid delivery today will focus mainly on the Eastern Townships region, where a few major projects have emerged in recent weeks. Thus, we will take the opportunity to give some details on this new gourmet bike route, the relocation of an institution and the arrival of a new restaurant with a retro concept.

Let's start with this new tourist offer combining bikes and restaurants. Linking Montérégie and the Eastern Townships, this route offers more than a hundred gourmet stops to discover along the 235 km that crosses 23 municipalities and 3 national parks. Among others, we find of course restaurants and cafes, but also creameries, microbreweries, orchards, cider houses, vineyards and distilleries. It is possible to do it at your own pace, one section at a time, or all at once, by planning stops at the accommodation options along the route.

Nearby, more specifically in Magog, we learned of the move of an institution in the restaurant landscape to this corner of the region. Indeed, Pizzéria Johnny has announced its plan to move its activities to Sherbrooke Street, a few blocks from its current location on St-Patrice Street East. Remember that the institution has been on this street since 1971! Thanks to this move, owner Stéphane Bourque confirms that he will be able to double the size of his business in addition to offering parking a few steps from the main door and obtaining greater visibility. Inside, a new reception room will be fitted out as well as a play area for children. Twenty additional jobs will be created. At the same time, we learned that a second Johnny Resto branch will open in Sherbrooke, which will bring the total to four, including those in Magog and Windsor.

Finally, Sherbrooke will have its new retro diner, the Vintage 50-80, which will open in the coming days on King Street West. For a few months now, the owners have been preparing the decoration of the place with neon colors and creating their menu, which of course includes hamburgers and milkshakes reminiscent of the fashion between the 1950s and 1980s. In addition to offering a menu inspired by these beautiful years, a jukebox comprising 6000 songs from these eras will be accessible. The owners, who are new to the restaurant business but have other experiences in the business world, strongly believe in local producers and they will be featured in their recipes.

For those who would like to relive the good times of their adolescence, this is the perfect place, while the youngest can discover a completely different world!
