Naturally, several dishes are already eaten with the fingers. Sometimes we dare, at other times we are intimidated and we use the good old fork. Ribs, burgers, chips, pizza and chicken wings are some of the dishes for which it is commonly accepted to use our hands. The fashion of finger food appeared a few years ago, but it is still present in several restaurants where utensils have almost completely disappeared. The friendly side of this type of cuisine has probably conquered more than one. We offer 4 restaurants where the fork is not set!
The Blue Nile - Montreal
On St-Denis Street in Montreal, Le Nil Bleu is a restaurant of fine Ethiopian cuisine. Although it is possible to eat with utensils, we are recommended to use the fingers and flat bread that is served with the plates to try the traditional method. The menu includes several vegetarian options, as well as meat and fish dishes. The tasting menu is worth the detour to have a pleasant overflight of this exotic kitchen.
Il Maggiolino- Milan, Italy
Here we forget the label and eat only with the fingers. No utensils will be provided. The menu is concocted expressly for customers to use their hands. Bruschettas, sausages, ribs, everything is eaten with your fingers. Bowls of scalloped peanuts even sit on the tables for the pleasure of dissecting them. The restaurant even insists on scaling the scales.
MC Lounge- Quebec
At the Château Bonne Entente in Quebec City, the MC Lounge steakhouse offers a full Finger Food menu. You can taste dishes without discomfort with your fingers. Examples? You can enjoy mini-burgers, fried calamari, oysters, lobster mini-cakes and fried pork cheeks. Ally, is not it?
Carpe Diem- Austria
In Salzburg, Austria, finger food is elevated to gastronomy. Here, no utensils to eat delicate dishes, food is served in cones. We go for a tasting menu comprising 4 or 7 dishes, all served in cones seasoned differently. Tartar, fish and even a crème brûle are part of the dishes served.
So, would you be willing to try? You are challenged to eat your next dish without utensils!
