5 good restaurants where to drink cocktails!

Mixology is gaining momentum in Quebec and many people now enjoy not only enjoying a cocktail as an aperitif, but also to accompany the main course. We abandon a little mojitos, comos and pina colada classics and we enter a world where the carefully selected ingredients come to dance our taste buds. We start!

Bistro L'Atelier

In Quebec City, the bistro L'Atelier quickly established itself as a benchmark in mixology. Created by Patrice Plante, Mr. Cocktails in person, the menu The thirst has enough to reverse. We find the classics of L'Atelier as Emoji (vodka absolut mandrin, lime, aloe, white grapes, basil) or Jack Sparrow (rum kraken, galliano, lime, bitter workshop pirate, pepsi). In the 2017 vintage section, we have revisited to our greatest pleasure the traditional cocktails of the 50s with evocative names such as Bleu Gougoune and Sex (protected) on the beach. A selection of premium cocktails is also offered as well as a few cocktails in a carafe to share our joy around the table.

Shaker

Skilfully blending cuisine and mixology, the Shaker now has eight stores from Gatineau to Quebec City through Lévis and Rimouski. It is the chef mixologist Jean-René Lebel who signs the card freshly original cocktails! The creations are mostly served in small or large Masson jars. We even thought to put on the menu a section Mixology of the soil featuring Quebec microdistilleries such as Ungava gin, Azimut Vodka or Pinacle ice cider. Among the wide list of nice cocktails, Moka Frio (Luxardo espresso liqueur, Courreur des Bois maple cream, cream of casco, coffee syrup, milk) and Le Shaman (Vodaka Smirnoff, soho, tonic syrup, juice of lemon, raspberry puree, 3D lychee-watermelon skull) are particularly inventive.

Le Pot : Papilles et Cocktails

In Trois-Rivières, it's at Bistro Bar Boutique Le Pot: Papillae and Cocktails that we meet when thirst is felt. Served here also in the nice pots Masson, the cocktails are not lacking in creativity like the Black Beard (Rum Kraken, Galliano, lime, bitter jamaican, vanilla syrup, chilli and Coca-Cola), Le Rémy dances with the wolves (Brandy St -Rémy XO, lime juice, ginger syrup, smoke, spruce beer and rosemary) or a little more trash Once a month (Jack Daniel's, southern comfort, lemonade, lemon juice, simple syrup, white wine) egg, peach bitter, soda and syringe of raspberry puree).

Les incorruptibles

On the Montreal side, the incorruptibles also carry a proud reputation in the field of mixology. Sips of classics or homemade cocktails such as tiger (quartz, lemon, maple, matcha and sesame) or Ahunspritz (liqueur of plums, Saint-Germain and sparkling wine) are served here.

La Distillerie

Always in the metropolis, we do not go wrong with one of the three Distilleries (Latin Quarter, Plateau Mont-Royal and Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie). To orient yourself in the choice of the happy elected one who will fill our glass, we base ourselves on note profile of flavor among powerful, fresh, tropical, delicate, fruity or acidulated. The Blues of the Metropolis (Spell blueberry, black St-Ambroise beer, blueberry purée, lemon, simple syrup, bitter regan's) and Sesame, open (St-Germain, triple sec, white wine, oleo lemon house, bitter orange tree, sesame oil, grapefruit juice, lemon-lime soda) are particularly imaginative.
