Sunday, we like to brunch? What is more satisfying than taking your time to enjoy a good meal, at your own pace, while tasting a multitude of different dishes? Abundance is usually not lacking in buffet style brunches. That's why we suggest five locations in Quebec where we do not skimp on quantity, but especially on the variety while keeping the concern for quality.
1. La Ruée vers Gould
In the Eastern Townships lies this beautiful inn paying tribute to Scottish immigrants who populated the region. Inspired by Scottish traditions, it serves the Sunday Grand Brunch, one of the best in the region. Copious wish, it is even suggested to visitors to be fasting from 20 pm on Saturday evening. Large tables are filled with classic omelettes, bacon, sausages, small potatoes, but also hot dishes simmered like veal with sotch and a fricassee of lamb. A panoply of fresh salads and decadent starters accompanies the whole. Not to mention the unimaginable dessert table with its impressive variety of pies and cakes!
2. Manoir Montmorency
In Quebec City, Manoir Montmorency is the perfect place to enjoy an exquisite lunch and dinner. An entire room is dedicated to the huge buffet which is full of mouth-watering dishes. The buffet is divided into four sections. The breakfast area includes croissants, danishes, muffins, eggs and gourmet fruit pancakes. On the traditional buffet side, there is a variety of mixed salads, but also homemade smoked fish boards, cold cuts, terrines, rillettes and pâtés as well as fine cheese platters from Quebec. It's not over, the hot buffet is served a cut of meat that varies weekly, a fricassee of fish and the pie of the moment. If you still have room, the candy table contains caramel cream, sugar and lemon pie, chocolate mousse and several cakes.
3. La Traite
In Wendake, you can experience an equally impressive First Nations influenced brunch. Fruits, yogurt and cottage cheese are of course at the rendezvous near the crazy Bakery section which includes bannock, this native bread, but also pastries, muffins, local jams, cereals and nuts. In addition, a wide variety of fine cheeses, salads, meats, terrines and pâtés of game are proposed. At the buffet, there is also a nice selection of smoked fish and gravlax. Buckwheat pancakes, eggs of the moment, baked beans with duck bacon, potatoes and meat pie are also among the choices. On the hot side, a seafood gratin, a rabbit with mustard sauce, a whole salmon and cranberry salsa, as well as a stew of underbrush bison, cover the table. Still hungry? Petits fours, macaroons, cakes and pies are served as a dessert.
4. Château Joliette
In Lanaudière, Château Joliette is an exceptional place to brunch with your family. Recently renovated, the restaurant offers a superb modern decor. The brunches are served every Sunday from 10 am. The buffet is separated into four different parts including the breakfast area which includes pastries, toast, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork and beef sausages, hash browns, pancakes and omelettes prepared in front of us. In the cold buffet, you can enjoy a variety of salads, crudités and dips, cheeses from lanaudois, terrines, charcuteries and shrimp and smoked salmon. Hum! A few hot dishes, vegetables and starchy foods as well as a sliced ??beef ribs complete the menu. Level sweet tooth, it is filled with pies, cakes and sweets, not to mention the chocolate fountain and fresh fruit.
5. Le Rouge Vin
In Trois-Rivières, it is well known, it is the restaurant of the Hotel Gouverneur we must go on Sunday morning. Croissants, buns and muffins, pot of the day, a range of raw vegetables and dips, smoked salmon, platter of cold meats, terrines and pates garnish the tables. And that's not all! Mirror of fine regional cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, mussels, meat and fish of the day, there is no choice! Do not miss the famous roast beef cut in the room and pancakes prepared in front of us. The little ones, they still crunch for the fresh fruit salad to soak in the chocolate fountain at will.
