It was after walking along the beautiful beach promenade Jacques-Cartier that I found myself at the restaurant Quai 1635.
Even if the terrace is inviting, it is sheltered from the wind a little cool that I decided to settle down, under the magnificent glass roof. The view of the river is just as sublime. By sitting on the platform, this feeling of déjà-vu was felt. You know the one you feel when you're on vacation and the only worry is that you have to select the dish to order?
If it were not for snatches of Quebec accent around me, I would have thought I was miles south, warmed by the rays of the sun seeping into the dining room. I leave the river for a few moments to bring them to the menu. We are Sunday noon and the brunch is blithely full on the tables nearby. Me, it's the lunch menu that makes me want. We start with a pulled pork nacho to share with the two little sailors who accompany me. We enjoy crispy crisps, hot salsa, generous seasoned meat and enjoy the freshness of sour cream with coriander and guacamole. It's a good start! In the second round, it was predictable, the lobster wins my favor. This time, I try it grilled-cheese way. Well! An association that I would not have dared to do in my kitchen. Between the two slices of buttered and grilled bread is delicately deposited lobster meat, mozzarella, chorizo ??and chives. I like the whole thing! The lobster meat is abundant, but the chorizo ??is discreet. I do not feel it at all. As an accompaniment, the hot chips, which appear more and more on the tables, bring me back to childhood. It was the perfect companion to the grilled-cheese of my eight years.
Filled, I almost forgot my bowl of smoothie, ordered in order to flirt with the lunch card. Generous to perfection, it is garnished with fresh fruits and crunchy nuts. What bring us the dose of sufficient energy to resume the path to the other end of the walk.
