Ma Langue aux Chats Cafe: coffee cats included

A feline cafe? Hmm ... for me who cultivates boundless curiosity for things that are out of the ordinary, I had to try. I like cats, without being an inveterate admirer of cats, but that said, I prefer them to canines. When I arrive on the spot with the brats, they look at me with a strange air: "Take off your shoes, wash your hands". Oh dear, I find the reception a little cold. I understand these hygiene measures and I greatly respect the animals that have taken up residence, but I appreciate when I am greeted more warmly. I also feel that my little ones disturb. Are they welcome? Yet, they are slowly approaching cats. High chairs, coloring books and toddler toys prove that they are not the first to walk through the door. Let's give the runners a chance, after all, we came to capture the atmosphere and caress these little balls of hair.

We sit around a coffee table while sitting on cushions. I like the concept, but the brats even more. Around, there is a lot to watch. Cats approach us or jump in their perched trees to go quietly. We bring the menu and the sheet of regulations in no more ways. When I order, I am told that tuna croquettes are no longer on the menu and that they are being replaced by a tuna panini. I agree with this, adding a trio of spreads (tzatziki, humous and salsa served with croutons). After going around the cafe to greet the other small naked animals, we take place on the small cushions and receive our plates. Not a word, no "good appetite", just plates laid before us. Fortunately, the trays are colorful and appetizing. However, I usually bring my children to several restaurants of all kinds and never have I received such a distant reception. I taste my sandwich with a bitter taste. For me, a restaurant is a whole: the atmosphere, the welcome, the decor, the flavors. Side plate, the "panini" I like, but it is not grilled, so the name of sandwich would have been more appropriate. The side salad is fresh, but cumin is a bit too much. On the side of spreads, the idea that I had made the dish and its result are so distant that I have almost no desire to taste it. I'm always ready for adventure, usually! The curry humus is granular, the salsa so ungenerous and the tzatziki is rather a sort of vinegary relish. It would be better to designate dishes more specifically or as the expression says so well to "call a cat a cat".

The experience is worth it, but it may be better to go for a coffee instead of sitting there.
