What could be more comforting than a good bowl of hot soup? Difficult to beat, let's face it! It was through an autumnal noon that needed to be warmed that I pushed the door of Soupe & Cie, located on the lively 3rd avenue in the Limoilou sector. Fortunately my legendary sense of foresight had made me book a table, because the place was crowded. From the first glance, I like the place. The atmosphere is warm and the big cushions crowded here and there on the benches are for something. Comfort is already working. The decoration is a bit chic with its great glossy chandeliers, but it is nonetheless relaxed with the mixture of bricks and wood on the walls. The room is divided into two separate rooms to ensure privacy, although the tables are a little too close together.
For the atmosphere, it's a good point to win. Where there is a bit of a mess, it's at the service level. For our part, it was a little cold and experienced lengths. Some odds were noted and we did not really get any explanations on the menu.
On the menu, the soups are of course in the honor. There is something for every taste: Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Japanese ... they all look tempting. You can choose the small format, the large or the formula "Flag" that comes with a selected accompaniment. A beautiful selection of tartars also completes the map in addition to a few unclassifiable and a selection of side-by-side. My choice was hard, but I finally opted for the Chinese which was made up of a fragrant chicken broth, wax tong stuffed with pork and shrimp, ham, grilled vegetables, green onions and Chinese noodles . The broth was certainly delicious and comforting at will and the portion very generous. The ham had intrigued me, I found this item curious with the Chinese vocation of the dish and the interrogation continued during the tasting, it appeared to me as a crushed intruder. The wong tong farce was very tasty, but the grilled vegetables were a bit disappointing. The amalgam was very good, but quite difficult to eat elegantly. Can not swallow the long bok choy with the tiny spoon, as well as the elongated noodles. Chopsticks were at our disposal, but in my case it would not have made things easier. The friend who accompanied me however enjoyed the Thai woman who was among the must-haves of the house.
For dessert, I was nevertheless conquered by the black chocolate dessert soup. Presented as a small work of art, the very creamy soup was garnished with pistachios, giant tapioca, berries and fresh mint. I was very surprised by the pleasant texture of the giant tapioca, it was like crunching in small delicate bubbles.
