Another quick delivery loaded with good news today as we will announce the reopening of the Sagamité restaurant, a new start for the Greek restaurant Ikanos and the opening of a new rotisserie in Coaticook!

Let's start with Sagamité, this gourmet restaurant located in the Huron-Wendat community of Wendake, near Quebec City, which is about to reopen after a long period of reconstruction and expansion following a fire in December 2018.

Founding owner, Steve Gros-Louis, unveils the new decor which combines traditional and modern elements. Items saved from the flames, such as a blackened canvas and burnt totems, will be reinstated in the restaurant. The Sagamité 2.0 will offer increased capacity with 340 seats and will offer new facilities, including an elevator, three private rooms and two bars. The focus will be on Huron-Wendat culture with displays of local art and Aboriginal artifacts.

The initial menu will be for 2018, but new menus will be planned for the restaurant's anniversary next year. The restaurateur also plans to launch a microbrewery, a pub, a food delivery and catering service, as well as a butcher shop offering ready-to-go products.

Let's continue with the change of concept of the Greek restaurant Ikanos, located in Old Montreal, which becomes Garde Côte, a steakhouse specializing in grilled meats and matured fish.

The chef-owner, Constant Mentzas, has also opened a fish shop called Palomar, where he offers dry-aged fish which improves the texture and taste of the fish. The Palomar fish shop will sell fish to the restaurant, while the restaurant will produce mignonettes and sauces for the fish shop. Garde Côte offers a variety of dishes, including shellfish, sashimi, cold and hot starters, as well as a selection of fish and dry-aged steaks.

The kitchen is equipped with wood and charcoal grills for cooking, as well as a mini wood-fired pizza oven. The chef also uses fermentation in his seasonings and sauces to add value to the ingredients. The wine list is created by sommelier Marc Lapierre, while the cocktail list is created by mixologist Tao Zrafi. The new concept has been well received by the restaurant team, bringing a fun atmosphere conducive to discovery.

Let's end with the arrival of Charly-Coq, this new player in downtown Coaticook led by Charles-Philippe Massé, who has met with great success since its opening. After only two months of activity, the restaurant already has many regular customers. With 25 years of experience in the restaurant business, Charles-Philippe knows the recipe for success. The rotisserie menu features classic dishes such as chicken, ribs, club sandwiches, wraps and house-breaded chicken fingers with spicy Doritos. The restaurant is also noted for its delicious poutine and plans to introduce new variations such as General Tao, smoked meat and beef with pepper sauce. In addition to its tasty menu, the restaurant's ambience is reminiscent of the famous Route 66 with retro posters, wood and cement hues, and decorative motorcycles. The restaurant is open for indoor dining and also offers a delivery service.
