The Society of chefs, cooks and confectioners in the Québec region elected leader Christian Lemelin, best chef in 2014. It is an honor for Christian Lemelin owner Toast !, SSS restaurants and Thoroughbred, to be chosen by his peers. This recognition glad his team who sees an encouragement to persevere towards excellence in cooking.


Christian Lemelin arrived in the kitchens at the age of 17 years. After following her cooking training establishment and updated kitchen at the Capital Hotel School, he continued his apprenticeship in some of the best restaurants in Quebec like St. Amour under the direction of Jean-Luc Boulay and Laurie Raphael under the direction of Daniel Vézina.

 


Restaurant Toast! Bistro SSS Thoroughbred Bistro-Grill

In 2003, Christian Lemelin materialize his dream of having his restaurant. With his partner Stéphane D'Anjou, he became at the age of 25 years old chef and owner of Toast! which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. Located on the street jump-au-Matelot in the Old Port of Quebec TOAST! is distinguished by the use of Quebec country food that occupy an important place in the kitchen of Christian Lemelin. Two others were born of Lemelin-D'Anjou association Bistro SSS (Single Snack Nice) on St. Paul Street and The Thoroughbred in Lac Beauport.
