Visiting the Chaudière-Appalaches region with the kids? You've probably scheduled a visit to the Miller Zoo, located in Frampton. Here, it's not enough to just go and discover the animals at the zoo, but also to take the opportunity to learn more about them. And after such a day, there's no doubt that you'll want to end it all on a good note by enjoying a good meal at the restaurant.

Below, we've created a list of suggestions for restaurants located near the Miller Zoo where you can regain your strength after walking the park's hiking trails to meet the 200 animals present.

The Miller Zoo's mission is to admire the animals and educate visitors to respect wildlife. The park's management believes that by allowing visitors to get to know the animals better, they will be made aware of respect for wildlife and therefore the well-being of the animals.

There are a total of 65 different species, living in their natural environment. Among others, you will find several North American animals such as black bears, deer, wolves, lynx, foxes or pumas.

But the Miller Zoo also has exotic residents: Asian otters, tamanduas, lemurs and coatis.

You may have discovered the Miller Zoo thanks to one of the six seasons of the popular show "Un zoo pas comme les autres" which were presented on TVA. During the episodes, it is possible to discover the backstage of the family shelter and follow the keepers in their daily life with the animals.

Now, as promised, here is the list of restaurants where you can eat after a day at the Miller Zoo. Enjoy your visit and bon appétit!

L’Amical

Our first suggestion is perfect for families. The family restaurant L’Amical welcomes everyone in a warm atmosphere.

On the menu, you will want to try one of their pizzas or one of their many poutines.

Among the pizzas that have made the restaurant famous in the region, we can mention the Smoked Meat, the BBQ chicken and the Amical (tomato sauce, pepperoni, cheese, chili, mushrooms, bacon and ground steak).

We counted no less than 21 different choices of poutines, including the Amical (sausage, onions and mushrooms), Smogo (smoked meat, pogo and chipotle sauce) and the Fouillis (pepperoni, onions, chili and mushrooms).

L’Infusion

The restaurant-cafe-bistro L’Infusion offers good home cooking in addition to take-out and specialty coffees.

You can have lunch there and, in the evening, discover their table d’hôte menu.

On the à la carte menu, you will find galettis, sandwiches where you can choose the bread (whole or cheese), the meat (sliced ??beef, seasoned chicken, pulled pork or tuna salad) and the sauce (terriyaki, mustard and honey, Thai, BBQ or mayonnaise). Everything is topped with mozzarella cheese, peppers, onions and lettuce.

Also on the menu, salads, pasta, nachos and pizzas. Wine, beers and cocktails are also available.

For early risers, there is also a lunch menu for you.

Bistro Gourmet

It is well known that the Chaudière-Appalache region is full of good sugar shacks. It is possible to visit them even outside the sugaring season. This is the case at the Bistro Gourmet de l’érablière, which remains open year-round.

You can enjoy, among other things, meal salads (Caesar with grilled chicken, Nordic shrimp or smoked salmon), fish'n chips, Bourbon ribs or shrimp.

There are also a few choices of burgers and poutines.

Au Parasol

The restaurant pub Au Parasol will satisfy the appetites of young and old with its weekly specials.

For example, the chef was inspired by a popular fast food chain to create his BigMac submarine (submarine bun topped with ground beef, orange cheese, pickles, fine onions, shaved iceberg lettuce and BigMac sauce) or the pulled pork or General Tao poutines.

At lunchtime, during the week, there are six daily specials to discover, while on weekends, it is possible to modify the menu for a table d'hôte.

A beautiful and large terrace is ready to welcome you as long as the weather permits.

Ô Manoir – Resto et spectacles

If you move a little further south of the Miller Zoo, towards Lac-Etchemin, you will find the restaurant and concert hall Ô Manoir. This place is charming, being located on the edge of Lac Etchemin and part of the Manoir Lac-Etchemin.

The terrace offers a superb view of the body of water and allows you to relax while having a cocktail, a glass of wine or a glass of beer.

For food, have a few bites of parmesan fondue, a bison terrine, a fried mac'n cheese or even salads and pasta, burgers, fish or beef flank steaks.

Frampton Brasse - Brasserie Farm

Let's leave you with one last suggestion, reserved for beer lovers. The Frampton Brasse brewery farm offers authentic beers prepared 100% in Beauce. There are nearly 20 beers to choose from that can be enjoyed on their patio, every day until 7pm. If it rains, there is also a tasting room inside.
