There is no shortage of Asian restaurants around Montreal. Nevertheless, the least we can say is that the restaurant The Thai Emperor, located in Beloeil, and opened just a few months, was able to quickly build a good clientele.
During my visit to this restaurant on a Thursday evening, the hotel was already half full and customers continued to arrive throughout the evening.
Warm and romantic, this small restaurant offers fine traditional Asian dishes. Although the warm colors and candles on the tables make a place of choice for couples dinners, I have to tell you that the tables and chairs are very close to each other. So can you hear your neighbor's conversation. This restaurant is also a good choice for a meal with friends.
The walls are covered with beautiful artwork that put us quickly into the Asian ambience.
The staff is friendly and courteous. In addition, the service is fast even when there are many customers.
The food is good and prices are average of what is offered in other restaurants of the same kind. This is a restaurant "BYOB", which also allows you to save on alcohol.
I enjoyed my entry spring roll and tasty peanut sauce that is much better than the ones I have tasted elsewhere.
My main course was accompanied by steamed rice portion was too small for my taste. My portion of ginger scallops was not huge either, but I enjoyed to find there four large scallops.
The Thai Emperor deserves its place in the market for Asian restaurants. I bet that this is only the beginning for a team that already seems to have found the path to success.
