Having traveled a part of the globe to demonstrate the richness of our culture and traditions , the idea of creating the Sagamité is born from the desire to share our beautiful culture among us Wendake.
Restaurant Sagamité was born in 1999 and since then it receives a local clientele, regional and around the world curious to discover our culture through a gastronomic experience. The restaurant evidenced by his name for the Wendat Sagamité was at the heart of our food. This is an enhanced game soup meal where we find ourselves the famous " Three Sisters ": squash, corn and red beans that we grew .
The house specialty , Yatista (fire) commonly called the " stem ". was created to illustrate the importance that fire for us. Our ancestors communicated with the Creator through the fire , talking , sharing and tasted meals around . Therefore traditions , culture and gastronomy are a real experience to Sagamité .
