Warwick will cook the biggest poutine in the world!

Warwick will cook the biggest poutine in the world!

On Saturday, August 3 at Warwick's Golden Star Park, 5000 people will be able to enjoy one and the same poutine. This one should weigh more than 2500 kilos! Yes, it will be enough to register a new Guinness record.

The whole is organized by the Fromagerie du Presbytere who has teamed up for the occasion with Fromage Warwick and Fromagerie Victoria.

The three cheese factories will operate their pools during the night to deliver the cheese during the day. A total of 40 fryers will be needed to cook the fries and then a table 60 feet long will serve as a plate. For the moment, trials are in progress to choose the best sauce.

An imposing logistics will surround the progress of the activity. Writing a Guinness record requires a lot of rigor. A specialized firm must be on site to immortalize everything on camera and also make sure to weigh each portion.

Jean Morin, owner of the Fromagerie du Presbytère located in Sainte-Elizabeth, believes that the event was absolutely to take place in Warwick, the neighboring village, because this is where the poutine was invented. In addition, by creating this partnership the time of an event, he wants the message to be clear everywhere else: the Center-du-Québec proves to be an essential cheese producer, both fine and fresh.

The current Guinness record was set in Trois-Rivières in 2015 when a 2000 kilo poutine was produced.
