Fast delivery: More no-shows, algae from the Gaspé Peninsula and the W restaurant

In this new edition of Fast Delivery, we will be discovering algae from home, we will talk about the new restaurant at the W hotel and we will once again discuss absences despite reservations.

First, with the busy holiday season in full swing, the popularity of group lunches and dinners increases at the same time. The other side of the coin? Groups reserve their place but ultimately do not show up ... without even notifying the restaurateurs. Do the latter have recourse? Absolutely not, even if they paid higher fees in anticipation of serving more people than usual. Please, don't do this to our restaurateurs this year!

Also, the restaurant at the W Hotel in Montreal is enjoying a new life, another, with a new concept. This time, run by former Europea Group member Joris Larigaldie, the restaurant showcases Italian cuisine while showcasing fresh local produce. Don't expect classic cuisine. Rather, he is a modern Italian. The decor has been completely changed and designed by Sid Lee Architecture.

Finally, restaurants in the province have been able to source seaweed from the Gaspé Peninsula for some time now, but now the rest of the world can also do so. Indeed, because the demand for algae is currently growing rapidly, the company Un ocean de saveurs launched a few poles during the last Chefs World Summit which was held in Monaco. The response was positive. Pending confirmation, company officials continue to convince Quebec chefs to use their product.
