Once again, we have proof that this global crisis brings out the best in certain people, certain organizations and certain companies. Here are other examples that came to our ears:
Moisson Mauricie will be helped by restaurants
Business people in Trois-Rivières, worried about the impact of this pandemic on the population, have decided to put their shoulder to the wheel by helping them and by creating the Trois-Rivières initiative united during the pandemic . This is a fundraising campaign that will directly support Moisson Mauricie / Center-du-Québec.
First, the public is invited to make a donation on the participative La Ruche site. In return, the donor will receive a gift card from a local institution. This restaurant will then receive this gift and will be able to prepare a meal which it will give to Moisson Mauricie. The food bank will eventually distribute this meal in the community.
The target is $ 25,000. This would provide 2,500 ready-to-eat servings to the organization, which is in dire need of volunteers.
Uber Eats teams up with the Children's Foundation
A new campaign to feed the staff of the Montreal Children's Hospital and encourage local Montreal restaurants has been launched in collaboration with Uber Eats and the Children's Foundation.
For long hours, several days a week, The Children's medical staff work tirelessly and do not feel like preparing a meal when they return home. This is why Uber Eats will provide meals valued at $ 75,000 and why Children's employees will be able to order a meal at the end of a long day at one of the many participating restaurants, many of which are difficulties in these times of crisis.
Finally, the Foundation invites the population to participate in the movement and to show its support for the employees of the Hospital by making a donation of $ 20 to fondationduchildren.com which will allow to offer a meal to a dedicated member of the Children's staff and to help local businesses.
SKIP also does its part
Skip also wants to help small businesses throughout this crisis and pledges to contribute nearly $ 15 million across Canada. Since March, additional discounts have been paid on commissions to local and independent restaurants in its network. In May, this program will be enhanced. Skip will also do more marketing campaigns and initiatives to get them more orders.
The company had also added the "tip" option so that consumers could directly support their favorite restaurants. Now Skip will double these tips and donate them to Food Banks Canada up to a maximum of $ 1 million.
