The biggest music festival of the year is undoubtedly the OSHEAGA Festival, which takes place every summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Hundreds of concerts, thousands of festival-goers and a unique experience await you from August 2 to 4, 2024. This is the perfect opportunity to pair this extraordinary experience with a meal at a restaurant to kick it all off.

Since its first edition, OSHEAGA has become a world reference in high-level festivals. For three days, music lovers discover sensations that they cannot find anywhere else. Just the enchanting setting of Île Sainte-Hélène with downtown Montreal and its majestic buildings as a backdrop has something to do with it.

And when the first notes of music are heard, the atmosphere explodes.

So, since you already know that it will be a great night with your friends, why not take advantage of it and organize a restaurant outing first?

It's the best way to get in the mood and warm up your spirits.

So we found for you the best restaurants to eat near the OSHEAGA Festival.

Mon Lapin

When a restaurant is ranked among the best in Canada, you have to stop there. Even more so when the evening promises to be hot in OSHEAGA!

We therefore suggest that you reserve a table at the Mon Lapin restaurant, this small establishment that is increasingly recognized and serves refined natural wines and a menu that is constantly changing according to the season, but always made with local products.

The menu is so changing that it is impossible to confirm that a particular dish will be there during your visit.

One thing is certain, it is the recognition of the pairs that it has earned over the years.

And the wine list that will surprise many!

Au Pied de Cochon

From Wednesday to Sunday, the restaurant Au Pied de Cochon awaits you to make you discover unique tastes.

Since 2001, chef Martin Picard and his acolytes have wanted to revive fast food and Quebec gastronomy at the same time. To do this, they offer generous and casual cuisine and make more refined products accessible. We only have to think of foie gras.

Also among the best restaurants in Canada, the Pied de Cochon offers, among other things, poutine with foie gras, smoked meat or shrimp. Or why not tartares?

What about the cocktails mixed on site? For example, a Moji-Pho (special chili vodka, maple syrup, lime juice, coriander and soda).

Jérôme Ferrer Europea

Here, another Montreal restaurant that needs no introduction and we have named Jérôme Ferrer's Europea.

Obviously, you must have a keen interest in culinary discoveries, gourmet meals... and the budget that comes with it.

At Europea, you will be entitled to a 9 or 11-course experience menu in addition to sommelier options to accompany your meal.

How about an appetizer of sugar shack tacos with puffed pork chips and Arctic char cooked in hay? Or a Canadian lobster cappuccino with truffle?

Then receive a homemade bread glazed with butter and fleur de sel before attacking your plate of scallops and shrimp or your floating island with foie gras.

The whole thing continues from surprise to surprise until the three sweet courses: gourmet creations from the pastry chefs, nuclear treats and maple sweets to share.

Toqué!

Owned by the popular chef Normand Laprise, one of the judges of the show Les Chefs!, Toqué! is still present in the world of Montreal's haute cuisine.

With his wife, Laprise was a pioneer of cuisine that exclusively favors local and seasonal products. Today, Toqué! prepares its menu by traveling the fields, rivers, ocean and forests of Quebec.

So, enjoy the tasting menu offered in seven courses. It is also possible to add a regular or prestige wine pairing.

You can opt for the à la carte menu, which includes the following choices: beef carpaccio, roast quail, foie gras terrine, suckling pig, halibut or duck breast, among others.

Joe Beef

This French restaurant also aims to be a casual bar. On the menu, find steaks and seafood. The dining room is located in a compact old-fashioned space.

On the menu you will find shrimp cocktail, a side of marrow in meurette, beef tartare, bitter lettuce salad, eggplant with anchovies and rabbit delivered royally.

If you want to brag about paying over $1,000 for a meal for two, you can also choose between the caviar plate or their lobster spaghetti or a piece of beef, all accompanied by a very great wine that is at the bottom of the wine list...

Be careful, the restaurant only allows groups of six or less. Beyond six, you will be separated!

St-Urbain

As a last gastronomic suggestion, we suggest the St-Urbain. This small establishment offers a modern and French menu with a local touch according to the seasons. It is also possible to order a glass of wine by the glass. Good idea to encourage moderation!

First, if you want to share your plate with your guest, you can do so with a seafood platter or with oysters from the East Coast of Canada.

Otherwise, the à la carte menu offers a cold zucchini velouté (with Stimpson surf clam, green curry and samphire), tuna croquettes (with spicy aioli, capers and fennel), a venison & pork sausage (with grilled eggplant, green olives, polenta), a smoked trout tartare (with preserved lemon, caviar and amaranth), a scallop crudo from the Magdalen Islands (with rhubarb, elderberry and radish) or even squid ink spaghetti (with Nordic shrimp, olives, tomato sauce and shellfish).

For dessert, a Quebec cheese platter, a warm caramel donut and a strawberry and rhubarb cream puff are among others on the menu.

For its 2024 edition, the 17th of the event, the organizers have programmed Green Day, Noah Kahan, SZA, Lil Tjay, Martin Garrix, the Smashing Pumpkins and dozens of others.
