Fast delivery: Former Chefs competitor!, new Lebanese Galette and Healthy Choice

In this new Fast Delivery, we will present to you the new project of the former competitor of Chefs!, Andersen Lee, the new branch of Galette Libanaise and we will draw up a list of the best healthy restaurants in Montreal which are also found on a Canadian list.

First, the Oncle Lee restaurant, run by young chef Andersen Lee, recently opened its doors in Montreal's Mile End. Despite its confusing name, it is Andersen Lee, in his mid-twenties, who is at the head of this new establishment.

The chef's rapid career, which began with internships in renowned restaurants, led to the opening of his own restaurant under the umbrella of the Bouillon Bilk group. Uncle Lee was included in the list of the world's most exciting openings by the World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2024.

Andersen Lee learned Chinese cuisine during his internships in Singapore, London and Mexico, but his concept mixes Chinese cuisine with Montreal influences.

With tailored portions and prices ranging from fifteen to fifty dollars, the restaurant aims to provide an affordable dining experience. Andersen Lee acknowledges that the current economic climate has not dampened his ambitions and the restaurant has been well received.

Despite the challenge of labor shortages, Bouillon Bilk's reputation as an employer makes recruitment easier. Andersen Lee, although not considering himself specialized in Chinese cuisine, wishes to create an experience reminiscent of the traditional restaurants of Montreal's Chinatown, while adding a contemporary French touch.

His goal is to create an accessible and familiar atmosphere, reflecting his own identity as a “Montreal Chinese”. The menu features a fusion of Chinese and Montreal influences, with dishes such as beef tartare, egg mayo and strip steak.

Secondly, Galette Libanaise has just opened its fifth branch in Quebec, located on Cartier Avenue in the Montcalm district, in former microbrewery premises. The menu remains unchanged, offering Lebanese pancakes topped with your choice of meats, vegetables and sauce as well as baklava for dessert.

The chain, popular with fast food lovers in Quebec, maintains its proven concept of pancakes inspired by the Middle East. The decor, signed by the Space Agency, is described as simple, modern and refined. The new branch joins existing locations on Grande Allée, Saint-Joseph Est, Saint-Jean, and chemin Sainte-Foy. The channel also plans to participate in more events, thus broadening its reach.

La Galette Libanaise now has a central production kitchen in Beauport, simplifying the preparation of items used in the restaurants.

Finally, 13 Montreal restaurants were included in the top 100 Healthy Choices in Canada. Open Table launches this first Canadian edition of its top 100, highlighting restaurants offering an interesting social experience and healthy food options. The data from this ranking reveals that 55% of Canadians have resolved to eat healthily in 2024. This ranking demonstrates that, despite certain perceptions, it is possible to make healthy and delicious choices in restaurants, both in Montreal and elsewhere. all of Canada.

Here are the top 5:

Bloom Sushi, Quartier des Spectacles - 288 rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, Montreal
