You have decided to please your children and spend the day visiting the dinosaurs at Woodooliparc, located in Scott, but you are wondering where you can go to eat after this long day? Follow us, we have suggestions for you!
Located in the heart of Beauce and the Chaudière-Appalaches region, Woodooliparc promises a wonderful day for children. No matter when you visit, whether in summer or winter, the sparkle in their eyes remains. The program varies from one season to another, but not the bursts of joy or smiles on the children's faces.
During the summer, you can take a long walk in the park's wooded trails while observing more than 100 life-size dinosaurs in their natural habitat. About thirty of them are also robotic.
There is also an interpretation centre presenting skeletons and fossils, challenging trails and an excavation site, allowing children to discover fossils themselves.
Also, thanks to a virtual reality headset and action-synchronized movement seats, you can fly over the most beautiful landscapes known on Earth.
When the summer season ends, Woodooliparc is transformed to celebrate Christmas in the Frima forest. You will meet Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the elves! There are also mazes, elf hunting activities, slides when the weather permits and a visit to the toy workshop.
You see, it is easy to amaze children. Now you have to think about their appetite and feed them properly. So check out our list of restaurants closest to Woodooliparc for inspiration!
Pub de la Cache – Resto Bar BBQ
Located very close to the Woodooliparc, the Resto Bar BBQ Pub de la Cache awaits you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the summer, the pub portion is open from St-Jean-Baptiste to Labor Day and you can always enjoy the terrace.
At any time, you can enjoy the restaurant's menu which offers dishes inspired by the cuisine of the southeastern United States, that is to say grilled meats, fish and seafood.
More specifically, among the starters you can choose the maple and bbq corn plate, the fried calamari or the melted cheese fondue.
Main courses include tatakis, tartares, salads and grilled dishes such as chicken drumsticks, a 12-ounce pork tomahawk, a 12-ounce strip loin, a jalapeno and cheddar sausage and a 7-ounce flank steak or black Angus filet mignon.
The restaurant organizes a few events throughout the year, including the Cache harvest, stargazing and the sugaring off banquet.
Restaurant G2
Why is the G2 restaurant called that? Because it is operated by the Giguère twins! Besides, we understand very well the family aspect of a restaurant outing. In addition, everything is prepared in-house with taste and freshness above all else.
The chefs also offer an evening table d'hôte that includes a parmesan fondue or a shrimp puff pastry as a starter, the soup of the day, a choice of main course and a dessert of your choice.
Among the options of dishes at the table d'hôte, there is the farfalle with mushroom duck, the veal escalope with maple and lemon, the chicken, squash and leek risotto, the hake fillet with seafood sauce and the 8-ounce steak and fries.
The restaurant welcomes you for lunch every day of the week and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, but is completely closed on Sundays.
DIX 93 by Frampton Brasse
While the kids are enjoying their meal, you can enjoy one of Frampton Brasse's house beers in their DIX 93 resto-pub.
In total, there are 24 lines of kegs of Frampton Brasse microbrewery products. Sometimes, other microbreweries are also invited to showcase their products at DIX 93.
On the evening menu, there are Cajun seasoned chips, French onions with beer served with honey and the classic nachos (Nachos cheese, peppers, black olives, red onions, jalapeños, guacamole, sour cream and salsa) as a starter. For your main course, what will you choose between the grilled chicken Caesar salad (with romaine lettuce, croutons, bacon, parmesan, grilled chicken and homemade Caesar dressing), the 8-ounce filet mignon with hunter sauce (with a sauce made with demi-glace, mushrooms, shallots, tarragon, cream, red wine and served with a choice of fries and sautéed vegetables) or the Dix93 burger (with a 10-ounce beef patty)?
The restaurant offers a table d'hôte option from Tuesday to Friday.
Waye Boulettes
At the Waye Boulettes restaurant, the kitchen team promises you a fusion of flavors and tradition. This tradition comes from Mauritius, a heavenly place located in the Indian Ocean, a few kilometers from Madagascar.
The cuisine of this island has been influenced by French, Indian, Chinese and African cultures.
Come and discover its seafood balls, fried noodles and crispy squid.
The menu also includes Cantonese rice, menn foon vermicelli soup and the Mauritian kebab submarine.
St-Hubert Express
Finally, let's get back to our classics for a moment with this last suggestion. Well-known throughout the province, St-Hubert rotisseries have also opened Express restaurants in recent years.
These are mainly available for delivery, drive-through or take-out, but also for people who are a little less rushed. They can order their meal at the counter, pick it up and eat it in the dining room, without any other table service.
The menu is also somewhat modified, compared to the usual St-Hubert restaurants.
But it is still possible to order the famous roast chicken, whether it is the leg or the breast, the ribs and the poutines.
Keep an eye out for the promotions in effect at each St-Hubert Express!
