Comedy galas are another great tradition of our summers and it is now in Quebec City that the most important ones are presented. In the same evening, you will have the chance to see and hear the latest comedians in Quebec as well as the most promising. Each presentation has its share of surprises and guests, each one more distinguished than the last.

Be distinguished yourself and prepare your evening by, first of all, going out to a restaurant. To do this, we have listed below some of the best restaurant suggestions.

The ComediHa! galas take place for six evenings at the Grand Théâtre de Québec from August 9 to 14 and are hosted, this year, by Fabien Cloutier, Martin Petit, Korine Côté, Laurent Paquin, Florence Longpré and Pascal Cameron as well as Billy Tellier.

Before you spleen, take care of your stomach by visiting the restaurants near the Galas ComediHa!, the Grand Théâtre de Québec.

Le Quarante7

We start our list of suggestions with force by offering you a visit to the restaurant Le Quarante7. Here, it's chic, with refined European-inspired dishes as proof.

The cuisine is defined as creative, elaborate, fine and passionate and the service also offers excellent cocktails.

What pleases visitors the most is the blind gourmet menu. This one is imagined by sous-chef Samuel Lepetz under the direction of chef-owner Joseph Sarrazin. We promise you a cuisine with meaning and that will awaken more than one at home. The ultimate goal is to surprise you. Will you trust them?

It is also possible to opt for the complete experience, that is to say, add the wine and food pairing option. Sommelier Véronique Gauthier, also associated with Quarante7, will take care of this part of the meal.

Trattoria La Scala & La Piccola

This Italian restaurant is organized to make you live more than one adventure. In addition to tasting one of the dishes on its menu, you will have the chance to hear a pianist accompany your evening.

If you visit La Scala on a Sunday evening, you may very well attend an opera! For the occasion, a seven-course menu is offered.

On the menu, you will have the following choices among their flambé pasta: penne à la Mario, penne with smoked salmon and vodka, linguine amatricciana and cognac or linguine à la Grégoire.

Tartars are also available, as are grilled meats or seafood.

A children's menu (8 years and under) is available: pizza (garnished, Neapolitan or pepperoni) and spaghetti (meat, rosée, tomato, butter or cream).

Enzô Sushi

Since 2005, Enzo Sushi has left its mark among Asian cuisine restaurants in Quebec City. Their traditional Japanese sushi is meticulously concocted by the team behind the counters. At Enzo Sushi, quality is recognized throughout the city.

The menu is composed of unique specialties that are accompanied by delicious sauces. You can opt for the four or five-course menu (this one includes two hot starters).

Among the possible choices, the Yasai Tempura (seasonal vegetables fried Tempura style and served with a sauce flavored with ginger and daikon), the chicken with asparagus (grilled chicken marinated in a teriyaki sauce accompanied by fresh vegetables and topped with a cream sauce) or the exotic salmon (lightly grilled salmon, served with sautéed vegetables and topped with a basil sauce).

Salads are also on the menu, including the Wakame (marinated seaweed with mixed seafood and julienned cucumbers, served in a sunomono sauce).

L’Atelier

Here is a restaurant renowned for its generous selection of cocktails, each one better than the next, and for its delicious tartares, and it is L’Atelier.

Located on the Grande Allée, L’Atelier is part of a beautiful large family of restaurants offering different experiences from each other. There is also the Ophelia Terre + Mer restaurant, the Ophelia boutique hotel and the Bistro Va Bene.

The menu of house cocktails alone, prepared by passionate and experienced mixologists, is quite impressive. There are also classic cocktails as well as several choices of wines, champagnes or beers.

On the à la carte menu, discover their renowned tartares, including the classic French beef (cocktail sauce, egg yolk, capers, pickle, parsley, garlic, onions), smoked salmon and scallops (cilantro mayonnaise, ginger, shallot) or tuna (green onion, shallot, cucumber, sesame cilantro, ginger, soy sauce and lemon). More or less gourmet? You can order the half portion (served with greens and croutons) or the full portion (this time served with fries, green salad & ciabatta croutons).

Sharing platters are also available for a warm tête-à-tête.

Chez Victor

Open since 1991, Chez Victor is the place for connoisseurs and experienced gourmet burger lovers. Made fresh and favoring local producers in the region, their burgers are worth the trip.

Among others, two burgers have been the pride of the cooks and servers of the place for all these years: the Verguez (homemade vegetable ball with merguez spices, vegan cheese La Bûchette de VegNature, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, VGnaise chermoula and strong mustard) and the Veganator (delicious seitan ball with green lentils-portobellos-shitake with real vegetable cheese and vegan bacon, garnished with sweet onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, our delicious VGnaise as well as the famous baseball mustard).

These two dishes won the 2019 and 2017 editions of Burger Week.

Chez Victor also has a poutine that has been talked about, winning an award at Poutine Week 2019: Gnocchi'ds (fried gnocchi, cheese curds, crispy potato juliennes, fried leeks, bacon, chive whipped cream, balsamic caramel).
