The city of Trois-Rivières is in love with culture and does not hesitate to invest in this sector, resulting in a huge outdoor amphitheatre, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, which is the pride of the entire population. If, like the people of Trois-Rivières, you plan to attend a show at the Cogeco Amphitheatre in the coming weeks, you will not be disappointed. You will also want to combine this activity with a restaurant outing.

During the summer, there is a lot of traffic all around, including in the restaurants located near the Cogeco Amphitheatre https://restoenligne.com/en/restaurants/list/attraction/amphitheatre-cogeco]. We have therefore prepared for you a list of suggestions for restaurants where you can go for dinner just before heading to your seat for the long-awaited show.

The Cogeco Amphitheatre is an outdoor performance venue that can accommodate more than 9,000 people at a time. It is located very close to the Festivoix de Trois-Rivières show venue, at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice and Saint-Lawrence Rivers.

At the end of the summer season, the stage is transformed into a cabaret and becomes a heated indoor venue that can accommodate approximately 600 people.

Since it opened about ten years ago, the venue has been best known for the exclusive and special shows prepared by Cirque du Soleil. Note the tribute shows to Rock et Belles Oreilles, Guy Lafleur, the Cowboys Fringants and many others...

In addition to this exclusive series, the Amphitheatre programs other music, theatre and comedy shows.

You will definitely love your visit to the Amphitheatre... and even more so if you plan your meal at the restaurant first! Here is our long-awaited list...

Restaurant Bistro L’Ancêtre

Located just a few steps from the Cogeco Amphitheatre, in an ancestral home built in the early 1900s, the Bistro L’Ancêtre restaurant has been offering the ultimate experience for over 15 years now.

The Bistro is just as suitable for business meetings as it is for romantic dinners, but it is also possible to get there on foot from the Amphitheatre parking lot. In good weather, in the middle of July, for example, it is a great way to start the evening. In addition, a beautiful terrace awaits you.

On the menu, the choice of starters includes tuna tataki, game terrine or sweetbread confit. As a main course, you will have to choose between lobster ravioli with shrimp, salmon tartare, a warm goat cheese salad or AAA beef filet mignon, for example.

As for drinks, a nice variety of wines are offered, by the glass or by the bottle. A prestige wine section is also on the menu.

Le Buck – Pub Gastronomique

Here is now a gastro pub welcoming you in a chalet-style decor and with a refined menu. At Buck, the chef and his team highlight local products from the Quebec terroir.

Of course, you can satisfy your thirst with a beer, wine or spirit. Like the ingredients used in the kitchen, the bar offers local products, in addition to an interesting selection of imported wines.

Starters include a plate of fresh oysters, beef tartare, bison tataki or squash tortellini stuffed with beef.

Main courses include a veggie plate (potato gnocchi, oyster mushrooms, Parmigiano Reggiano, edamame, ricotta, hazelnut), another of steak and fries, fish of the day or veal (crusted filet, cauliflower, poultry jus, carrot puree).

Le Trèfle - Irish Pub Irlandais

Here is a suggestion for Irish pub lovers. In Trois-Rivières, they will be delighted at Le Trèfle, with its festive atmosphere, no fewer than 100 choices of beers, several renowned scotches and a menu managed by the little neighbor, La Maison de Débauche.

The decor is also beautiful, with wood paneling, a copper bar counter and an antique feel.

After making your choice of drinks, why not choose the tender flank steak or the very famous homemade parmesan fondue. But there is also the General Tao chicken and the few choices of pizzas cooked on a real maple wood oven,

Le Trèfle is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 4 p.m. or from Friday to Sunday from 2 p.m.

Le Bette

Here is a newcomer, located in the heart of downtown Trois-Rivières. At Bette, you can discover their very simple tapas formula concocted with Quebec products that change according to the seasons.

Before choosing your bites, you can have a glass of natural or organic wines or a good beer from a local microbrewery.

On the menu, everything is simple: duck confit (with phyllo pastry, Boursin, haskap and forest honey from La Chope à miel), zucchini crepe (with green onions, dill sour cream, lemon, marinated mustard seeds and chili crunch) or black pudding from Rieur sanglier (with creamy wild mushroom sauce and haskap coulis.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you can also arrive as early as 10 a.m. for morning brunch.

Restaurant Le Pêché Mignon

Our last suggestion takes you to Pêché Mignon, a friendly gourmet restaurant open since 2008 serving mainly grilled meats and seafood in an ancestral house dating back to 1864.

If you are indeed passing through Trois-Rivières to attend a show at the Cogeco Amphitheatre, you will love taking a seat on the terrace of Pêché Mignon.

Don’t forget to bring your own wine or beer!

In addition to the perfectly aged meats to ensure incomparable tenderness, a variety of pastas are also on the menu.

For example, there is the 6-ounce Pêché Mignon burger (with beef, brie, onion confit, lettuce and tomato), General Tao chicken, 10-ounce AAA Angus striploin, sterling beef flank steak, shrimp, frog legs or scallop plates, pink pasta with seafood, carbonara or gigi.

Even children are well catered for, with a special menu dedicated to little ones.
