Social distancing in restaurants: two innovations on the menu

Social distancing in restaurants: two innovations on the menu

The buzzword since March is definitely "social distancing." Frankly, there is not a single day without it being pronounced, and for good reason. The issue is so important at the moment that restaurants have to rack their brains in order to find a solution and allow them to reopen in the short term. Today we are presenting two innovations that should become popular soon ... one serious, the other less!
Let's talk about serious things in the first place. The American company Miso Robotics is currently launching a robot called "Flippy" which has an artificial intelligence and which wants to replace the cook assigned to cooking hamburger dumplings.
Already available in some baseball stadiums in the United States and in an American fast food chain, Flippy makes sure to cook every burger it touches to perfection thanks to a thermal camera.
Its low cost of ownership, around $ 3 an hour, allows restaurants to increase their profit margin by 300%.
In addition, Flippy makes the environment around him safer and keeps human workers away from dangerous hotplates.
Finally, it is the Burger King chain that offers some ideas to keep customers in its restaurants at a distance. So much for the less serious part of our column…
First, the German restaurants of the chain give "crowns of social distancing" which are of course two meters in diameter. This is an x-large replica of the famous burger king crown, often used in their advertisements.
Also, some Italian restaurants have put on the menu at the Social Distancing Whopper. His particuliarity? Three times more onions than usual! With your bad breath, make sure you keep everyone at bay!
Let's face it, these are two original ways to encourage people to keep a respectable and safe distance between each person ... and to be talked about!
