National recognition for Le Saint-Amour

National recognition for Le Saint-Amour

The chef and co-owner of the restaurant Le Saint-Amour, Quebec, Jean-Luc Boulay, received an award from the Governor General of Canada while celebrating the arts of the table. Mr. Boulay was honored in the category Mentoring and inspiration.

Michaëlle Jean hosted for the first time the winners of the Governor General's Performing Arts of the table. These awards recognize the outstanding efforts of Canadian citizens who improve the quality, variety and durability of components and ingredients in the Canadian’s cuisine.

Mentoring and inspiration is awarded to a person who became a model behavior, and encourages the rest of the nation to learn the arts of the table from another angle.

For over 30 years, Mr. Boulay is doing things in downtown Quebec City in several ways. Its restaurant, Le Saint-Amour, takes advantage of his French training which allows him to create this distinctive cuisine so that puts forward the land of the whole country.

It has indeed been one of the first to promote regional purchasing. In addition, he has never hesitated to hire new recruits to play a role of chief mentor.
