Horace Poutine (Drummondville), destroyed by fire

Two fires broke out in a few hours apart Thursday night at the Drummondville restaurant Horace Poutine, reducing to ashes the establishment located at the corner of boulevard Saint-Joseph and 110th Avenue. Firefighters were able to quickly master the first warning but they could do nothing to the second.

First, during dinner time, a client seated near the windows noticed flames and debris off the roof. She alerted other customers, employees and firefighter.

The fire had first arisen in the new section, which initially told firefighters that the work could be the cause of the fire.

But a second warning was given at 11 PM, the same evening. This time, due to the rapid spread of the blaze, firefighters poorly explained the recovery of the fire. Everything is so far considered suspect. Upon returning on the spot, the walls were beginning to crumble.

The owner Andre Savoie, interviewed by Sherbrooke’s La Tribune, confirmed that the restaurant will be rebuilt once the investigation is completed, the insurance papers signed and permits obtained.
