Dine at Base Camp

No need to be mountaineer to energize the base camp, a new bistro located in Stoneham, 7 minutes from the ski center and 25 km north of Quebec City.
That's why the name of the bistro. Lucie Laberge, the owner, is a follower of the mountain. In 2014, the Journal de Montreal had even reported missing because of an avalanche in the mountains of the Himalayas!
This is the one that prevails in kitchens, Xavier Lapointe Goupil-telling the story. Arrived as reinforcements to the opening of the base camp - which was to reign in the kitchen made her apron on the day of the opening of the new bistro! - The young chef was given carte blanche to create the menu.
At Base Camp, slate menu is office. This is a concept of tapas displayed on boards. It varies from 2 to 4 tapas between 4 and $ 12. Tuna tartare, beef tataki, foie gras include the menu. And every two weeks, two proposals of the chef come and go according to his inspiration. Occasionally, one can also enjoy themed menus at some as Valentine's Day where the head is going all out with a much more elaborate menu.
Toss elsewhere for inspiration
Xavier Goupil-Lapointe began 14 years in the world of cooking. Ten years later, he finds himself head after spending over time six months in Sicily, cooked in Colombia, Venezuela and in Western Canada.
Its winter menu is also inspired by this region of Canada. "The summer menu should have influences from South America," says Xavier. Why all these trips? "To see elsewhere how foods are cooked. Asked about his specialties, Montrealer explained that Base Camp, "I want to do simple things, to work well, cure the presentation, brief to focus on comfort food," whether for dinners from Thursday to Saturday evening or for dinner, Monday to Saturday.
Can accommodate forty guests including also on the outdoor terrace, Xavier Goupil-Lapointe mentioned that Base Camp offers forty privately imported wines, purchased to marry the places menu. And as the Base Camp is also catering, we can go to the bistro just to buy wine on condition of buying a little something to eat, even at two dollars.
Projects
Since the bistro is in the vicinity of the ski resort Stoneham, we obviously try to go for the skiers through various promotions.
And as the terrace with a fireplace, one of the young chief project is to offer winter barbecues!
Soon, there should also have brunch on Saturday and Sunday. And for sunny days, who knows, "I would have my own garden to grow tomatoes, peppers, squash, herbs for cooking here. "
