In Bas-St-Laurent, the biggest party of the summer takes place in Rimouski, right on the banks of the majestic River. The entire population gathers downtown to attend the four musical evenings of the TELUS Great Holidays, each one more different than the last. As has been the case since the beginning of summer when a major festival takes off, we offer you the best suggestions for restaurants where you can start the evening off on the right foot.
The Great TELUS Parties of Rimouski, which have taken place at Beauséjour Park since 2007, will this year welcome headliners such as Sum 41, The Planet Smashers, Black Eyed Peas, Bryan Adams, Bleu Jeans Bleu and Louis-Josée Houde,
Also on the schedule are shows by Samian, Rêve, Steve Hill, Laurence Nerbonne, a tribute to Colocs and Claudia Bouvette. On Sunday afternoon, a show reserved for young people is also planned.
To round off the festivities, a grandiose fireworks display is planned for 10:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
To satisfy all the tourists who will go there, the restaurants near the Grandes fête TELUS de Rimouski at Parc Beauséjour garnish their cuisine with best ingredients available and ensure they have the best workforce on the floor to serve and create a good impression on festival-goers.
We hope that our suggestions will satisfy you and that, above all, you will take advantage of your outing to the Grandes Fêtes TELUS de Rimouski to visit a good restaurant and eat well before going to swing your hips in front of the stage!
Bovino Grill
Grill lovers will not hesitate for a single second and will be delighted by the offerings at Bovino Grill. This steakhouse welcomes you in a flamboyant decor and offers you top quality meats. All meats are aged for at least 35 days before ending up on the Bovino grill.
But there is also pasta, fish, ribs and a wide choice of starters that can be shared.
The wine list is also generous and sought-after.
And as it is the summer period, you will be happy to have your meal on their magnificent terrace.
A children's menu is also available.
Taverne 666
Located on rue St-Germain, a pedestrian street during the summer period, Taverne 666 will seduce you at first glance with its immense terrace shared with the neighboring restaurant, the Shaker.
Once you're settled in, you can also let yourself be seduced by their menu: steaks and more steaks! Their plates are accompanied by their famous beer fries.
Speaking of beer, it is served very cold and promises to start your evening off right before crossing to Beauséjour Park for the show of your favorite artist.
Les Finesses d’Alsace https://restoenligne.com/en/restaurants/home/les-finesses-dalsace-rimouski
For those who are in a hurry to go celebrate at Beauséjour Park, we recommend that you stop for a sandwich prepared by Finesses d’Alsace. A meal on the go, just before arriving well in advance so you don't miss any of the TELUS Great Holidays action.
Also available, fresh bread, pastries, pastries, quiches and salads.
You can also have your sandwich delivered! But be careful, Finesses d’Alsace closes at 5 p.m. every evening. The establishment is also located on St-Germain Street.
Maison du Spaghetti and Bistro de la Forge
Still on St-Germain Street (the main artery for a successful evening in the heart of summer in Bas St-Laurent), you will find the Maison du Spaghetti and the Bistro de la Forge under one roof.
Located in a century-old house which obviously housed an old forge for more than 30 years, the Maison du Spaghetti has now been delighting pasta lovers for 45 years in this location.
In these walls full of history, prepare to taste lasagna, thin 10-inch pizzas.
In the same place, in what was previously a private room of the Maison du spaghetti, there is now the Bistro de la Forge. The atmosphere is bistro-style, casual and the menu offers a variety of burgers, tartars, homemade butchery and much more! There is also a whole selection of aged scotch & whiskey and privately imported wines.
During the summer period, the Maison du Spaghetti and the Bistro de la Forge do not take any reservations.
Brasserie La Baraque
Our last suggestion is also found on St-Germain Street and it is the Brasserie la Baraque.
Here you can taste local beers and enjoy them quietly on their terrace or inside.
To fill your stomach, their menu is simple, but affordable and comforting: smash burgers, a crab and lobster club sandwich, a plate of fish & chips, a fish platter and a chicken burger.
Also take advantage of a special offer that is available for a limited time, the Gaspésienne board (cold smoked salmon and trout, salmon mousse, maple-smoked cod fillet, maple-smoked salmon candies, accompanied by tomatoes, pickles, cheese and croutons). This plate is so easy to share!
With these options available in Rimouski, near Beauséjour Park, location of the TELUS Great Parties, you will have the chance to start your evening off on the right foot. Bon appetit and good show!
