One of the summer traditions of Quebec families looking for thrills is to plan a day at Complexe Atlantide, located in Saint-Calixte, in the Lanaudière region. After having toured all the activities planned on site, you will have worked up an appetite and you will be hungry as a wolf. Follow us to discover our suggestions for restaurants near Complexe Atlantide.
Complexe Atlantide includes a multitude of activities for the whole family. There are many options to please everyone: zoo, water park, magic castle and haunted mansion.
In addition, it is possible to spend the night there, either in one of the chalets for rent, their hotel, the trailers ready to camp or the campsite.
At Famili Zoo, you will have the chance to discover, among others, lions, tigers, lynxes and wolves. In addition, you could spend the night at the Hôtel de la cité perdue with a direct view of the lion enclosure.
As for the water park, the water slides allow you to get your fill of adrenaline and refreshment. In addition to the popular slides, there is a wave pool, a lazy river, several water games and entertainment for all ages.
And even if this day must end when the park closes, it can continue at the restaurant. It's time to offer you our restaurant suggestions!
Jungle en folie
Located directly on the site of the Complexe Atlandide, more precisely in the section of the Hôtel de la cité perdue, the family theme restaurant Jungle en folie promises to take you to an exotic universe.
Please note that reservations are absolutely necessary to obtain a table. And depending on the number of people, the restaurant may be closed on certain occasions.
There is a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to noon every day and an à la carte dinner available from 5 p.m. The bar is also open from 5 p.m. to midnight.
Since this is a family complex, be sure to find a children's menu at the Jungle en folie restaurant. Little ones can eat poutine, chicken nuggets, spaghettini or pogos.
Adults will find a little bit of everything on the evening à la carte menu, including pasta, pizza, meat and seafood. A vegetarian section also includes ravioli, a burger and a plate of breaded fillets.
A nice selection of cocktails, beers and wines is also available.
Bon Matin
If you want to fill up on energy before heading to the Complex, stop by the Bon Matin restaurant. Here, we are the masters of breakfast. The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. every morning. In addition, a full lunch menu is available from 11 a.m., all in a retro and intimate setting.
You can even choose to take your meal to go. Yes, even lunch!
On the menu, both the sweetest and the saltiest will find what they are looking for. Are you undecided between the two? Sweet and salty dishes are also on the menu. For example, the aptly named sweet and salty dish offers a poached egg on an English muffin with ham, mozzarella cheese, peppers and mushrooms, all covered in homemade hollandaise sauce and accompanied by a crepe, maple syrup or custard and breakfast potatoes.
There is also the Bon Matin Deluxe poutine, which is topped with delicious homemade breakfast potatoes, a poached egg, homemade hollandaise sauce, a mix of brie and cheese curds, bacon and marinated filet mignon.
Bistro à Champlain
If you are staying upstream from Saint-Calixte, for example at Estérel, do not hesitate to hit the road after your day outdoors to go to Bistro à Champlain.
It is located in the Estérel resort and it is therefore necessary to book before showing up. Priority seating is given to guests staying at the hotel. Hopefully you are among the lucky ones.
Here, you will find a five-course gourmet menu, inspired by the seasons. Thus, each new season brings a breath of fresh air to the menu prepared by the chef and his team, according to the availability of local producers.
Right now, the menu offers oysters, fresh scallops from the Magdalen Islands, foie gras marbled with duck breast, melting trout, and bison sirloin en croute. Dessert is made with crème fraîche, Quebec strawberries, dune pepper and Anicet d’été honey from Ferme-Neuve.
Above all, the visit is worth the detour to enjoy one of the most renowned wine cellars in Quebec. The sommeliers will thus know how to create incomparable food and wine pairings with rare, collectible or privately imported wines.
Henri
For a few months now, the popular Henri restaurant, originally located in Joliette, has opened a second branch near the Complexe Atlantide. This is a great opportunity for visitors to discover this restaurant's unique poutine and also their burgers.
The very first Henri was opened in 1957 in Joliette!
What is important to try at Henri comes in three choices:
First, the Mammouth Burger. This is a huge burger with two meatballs, coleslaw, two slices of cheese as well as tomatoes and lettuce.
Second, the pepperoni-cheese pizza. A generous portion of pepperoni, freshly grated mozzarella and a perfect oven cooking.
Finally, the poutine, considered by locals to be the best in the world. We are waiting for your tasting and your vote to find out for sure!
Boulangerie Pain de Campagne
If you want to bring your lunch, stop by Boulangerie Pain de Campagne and ask for one of their sandwiches.
For example, you could choose a ham sandwich that will be prepared on demand and to your taste with the freshest ingredients from the kitchen. A breakfast sandwich with atomic eggs in a panini is also on the menu.
There are also salads and fougasse.
While picking up your lunch order, have a coffee and get a free homemade donut.
Les Délices de Rosa Grill
The last option we offer you is part of the Chez Rosa group. We particularly invite you to discover Les Délices de Rosa Grill.
Here, you can enjoy tartares, pasta plates, homemade pizzas and of course grilled meats.
Among others, a grilled chicken supreme, salmon, a rack of lamb, a AAA New York steak or filet mignon.
Choices of burgers (fried chicken, prime rib or mini angus sliders) are also on the menu.
