5 truths about the doggy bag

5 truths about the doggy bag

At the restaurant, are you embarrassed at the idea to bring your leftovers home? In some institutions, it is common, whereas in others, we experience some discomfort to ask. Here is everything you need to know about "cookie remains".
1. The custom of doggy bags from England.
Some restaurants offered patrons to take unfinished food in small bags to give to their dogs. We used the pretext of the pet out of modesty, not to shock customers by claiming that their dishes were actually intended.
2. Do not be embarrassed to ask.
It is all a question of culture. In North America, it is a well established tradition, but on the other side of the Atlantic, the doggy bag is just beginning to settle. In one way or another, we paid for our plates full and it is not our fault that some restaurants serve generous portions too. It is therefore quite acceptable to take the leftovers if desired. We try of course to ask when the remaining portion is worth and when you actually plan to eat the leftovers home.
3. Some restaurateurs least like the concept.
Some restaurants like the least idea that their food be heated because the taste of the dish will not be the same as that served in the restaurant. The restorer can not know how the dish will be retained until the end and how it will be heated. Thus it loses some control over the quality of its products.
4. In Australia, legislation forbids restaurants to provide bags to carry away the remains.
For we judge that the practice represents risk because we do not know if the food will be kept at the proper temperature.
5. The doggy bag can be environmentally friendly.
Of course, the doggy bag helps counter food waste, but when we leave with our tray of cardboard or polystyrene, this is not very environmentally friendly. Some restaurants, however, have thought of a more green concept. This is what a restaurant in France, African Grange, located in Clermont-Ferrand. The owner had the excellent idea of ??offering trays in storage. The customer pays a few cents every time and leaves with her flat in a reusable container.
And you ask yourself cookie remains when you do not fill your plate at the restaurant?
