Simple Snack Sympathetic. With a similar name, there is something to expect at a friendly and unpretentious restaurant. So it was with a bit of astonishment that I found myself in a restaurant looking a little chic. The decor is beautiful with its own stone walls to the buildings of the city center and the environment is actually enveloping and cozy. I liked the paintings on the walls and the glass wine cellar. Even the toilets are a distinguished strand. There was only a small lag in relation to what the name of the restaurant advertised and what it actually was, but the whole thing is very nice.

The establishment has a terrace, but since it is located on the sidewalk where passers-by circulate on both sides of the tables, we opted for the interior.

In the heart of the tourist district, on the busy rue St-Paul, a few steps from the Marché du Vieux-Port, you should expect prices to be a bit inflated. I admit that I found the costs of the card a bit exaggerated, but of course the price of the rent should not be given. That warrants. For a look at the menus of nearby restaurants, the SSS follows the flood. On the menu, tartar, pudding, sweetbreads, bib, but also a creative poutine and burger.

I go for the pasta of the day, which was, that evening, capellinis with shredded pork. In description, the waitress talked to me about pasta served with a cream sauce, white wine, dried tomatoes and fresh. Everything to convince me! Once the dish was served, I enjoyed the visual, then the taste. However, when I am promised an ingredient on the menu, I expect to find it, but I have not noticed any trace of the fresh tomatoes on the plate. The whole thing was however very good as well. The sauce was really delicious, though a bit heavy. I appreciate a little more lightness. The meat was very delicate, but rather discreet in flavors. Overall, however, it was an excellent dish.

On the side of my spouse, the latter chose the poutine duck confit. Bold and truly original, the latter was topped with a goat cheese sauce, roasted tomatoes and walnut pesto. A real delight, although the sauce was still a bit too consistent for my taste. The portion was just fairly reasonable. We were delighted!

As for drinks, the restaurant offers a nice variety of homemade cocktails and a wide selection of wines.

SSS is finally a notch more elaborate than the name indicates, but it remains sympathetic without contradiction.
