It is a real little trip to Mexico that I felt as if I was going to the restaurant Senor Sombrero, well established on the royal avenue for a few years already. My feeling was shared with my table neighbors who exclaimed "We feel in the south! Cheerfully. The terrace is for something. It is a major attraction, especially since there are not many in the vicinity.

Do not be disappointed if the terrace season is over, the interior is also exotic and also entitles to a return ticket to Mexico. The owner is friendly and contributes to the exoticism of the place by putting a touch of Spanish in his interventions, although he speaks very well French.

Typical Mexican dishes are on the menu. We appreciate the authenticity of the dishes. We start relaxing with the house sangria. Great! I liked the visual presentation because it is served in two shades, just shake before consuming. I love the friendliness, so we went for dishes to share that we put in the center of the table.

We chose the Mexican Grand Nachos served with jalapenos, red beans, steak pieces, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa and pico de gallo (which consists of a mixture of tomatoes, onions and coriander). I enjoyed the nacho and especially the pieces of steak well marinated. My only disappointment was the level of quantity. As the nacho is presented as a main course, I would have enjoyed more meat.

Question of tasting everything, the second dish, we opted for the plato Senor Sombrero. I love the little tasting plates that allow the undecided like me to try different dishes. The tray included a quesadilla, a tostada, a dorado taco, a sope and salsa. Everything was really delicious and I did not regret my choice. My favorite of the plate: the quesadilla all soft with its delicious garnish. Again, however, the plate lacked a little protein and I left because I did not completely satisfy my hunger.

Interestingly, the restaurant also offers take-out orders.

Senor Sombrero really succeeded in getting us a little air from Mexico to Quebec!
