I fell into this place on a cold Quebec evening—well, freezing, in fact: -30°C. The restaurant was buzzing, and I didn’t think I had a chance, but the hostess managed to squeeze me into a spot at the bar, followed by a relatively quick move to a side high-top table. After that, I can tell you—it was worth the “wait.” The menu is short but exceptional. After discussing options with the server, she said of the ribeye (which looked like a very large serving), “I can do it, but you won’t want anything else to eat—no soup, no appetizer, no bread, and definitely no dessert.” Challenge accepted, and she was absolutely right. The steak was cooked to medium-rare perfection, the sauce was stunning, and the mushrooms and dauphine potatoes were equally impressive—creamy and crisp like none I’ve had before. This place rivals its “more vaunted” neighbours.
Great NYE Meal! The duck tartare oysters and beef wellington were amazing. Great wine pairing with every dish as well. Highly recommend if you are in Québec City.
