Second time going there and the service and food hasn’t disappointed me. The servers are very nice and patient people towards their customers, even when they’re busy. Some of their selections are the best things my taste buds have tasted, it’s perfectly seasoned and made with care. The ube ice cream is also very good and creamy. I definitely recommend soup zen even if you’re a picky eater (since you are the one choosing what you want to eat), and if you’re not experienced with outdoor eating. This place will happily welcome and give you a wonderful experience any day, at any time.

We went there on a weekday so we didn't have to wait to get a table. The price is fair and the food was good. We have lots of options and the free Taro ice cream was really good. 100% recommended

Very disappointing experience. The attitude we received felt extremely poor and, honestly, it came across as discriminatory. We waited a long time just to be seated, then were largely ignored with almost no service during the meal. What made it worse was that after the meal, other tables were given ice cream, but we were not. We asked about it, and even after that, the staff responded in a very dismissive and unmotivated way. Overall, the service felt neglectful and unfair, and it left us with a very bad impression.

The food was incredible. I am gluten free and there were many options to choose from including some very exciting noodles, not just your classic vermicelli rice noodle. My bowl came out fairly pricey but unlike other restaurants the portions are very generous, in addition to being high quality ingredients. The sauce bar was such a trip, so delicious and fun!

Hi, I came near the closing and I ordered 2 soup for about 35$ each for takeout. When I arrived home, the soup broth is half filled for both order. It seems the person divided our broth in two. I'm very disappointed, it's not a 10$ soup. I would expect that the staff follow the standard of every order. I hope the owner sees this. This is how you loose client. You could guess our disappointment when arriving home and not having enough liquid for our soup.... and on top of that, the restaurant closed.

Always check reviews before trying somewhere new, your health, experience and money is important!! I’m rewriting this because I previously left a review on another account and was told I was lying, which was frustrating since everything I mentioned reflects my real experience. The selection of proteins was very limited, and one of the options was canned chicken. The ingredients also appeared poorly cut, and the soup had a very strong, unpleasant smell that made it hard to enjoy. Service and organization were major issues. We waited close to two hours despite there being only around seven tables. There doesn’t seem to be a clear system in place, and several ingredients were unavailable. After being seated, we were even moved to a different table after already getting settled. There were about three servers, yet dishes came out one at a time. My partner received his soup first, and by the time mine arrived about ten minutes later, his had gone cold. Communication was also lacking. No one explained how the process works or that sauces were available—you have to figure that out on your own. When I asked for a fork, it was brought to me with the server touching the part you eat with, which is not very hygienic. The atmosphere didn’t help much either. By 9 PM, the lighting was still very bright, which made the space feel less comfortable than expected. Before visiting, I hadn’t done much research on this style of cuisine, so I went in without expectations. However, the overall experience felt more focused on efficiency and business than on quality or care in preparation. That said, this experience does not reflect my view of Chinese cuisine as a whole. I’ve had great experiences at other restaurants that felt much more authentic and thoughtfully prepared, and I will continue to support places that offer that level of quality. On a positive note, the free ice cream was a nice touch. I also think it would really help to have clear explanations and visible images of the broths/boils so customers know what to expect before ordering. Ps: in the picture our bowls are empty bc we ended up taking to-go after 15 mins of having our food. I also saw a waitress putting soups in bowls for others but we just got handed ours. If it was a burger and fries ( less of a mess) I’d do it myself, but it’s soup.

The whole waitlist/reservation process is very confusing and can cause frustration because of how complex it is and perhaps may need some refining. Nevertheless, it’s a very nice experience to be able to build your own meal. They have a variety of ingredients, protein and noodles to choose from and the sukiyaki broth is the best! The food takes a while to be prepared which is expected since they seem to be busy all the time but it is delicious! and you get free ice cream afterwards🍦i recommend the ube⭐️

I personally think the place is overated, the place is very crowded and the food is nothing special but it is Halal. The Decorations and the whole atmosphere is pretty.

The options of protein was very limited, and they also served canned chicken meat which really grossed me out. Idk who eats canned chicken in their soups… we waited almost 2 hrs, there’s no direct line, it’s not organized, half of the ingredients are missing and wait time to even get food is long, considering there’s approximately 7 tables… I also didn’t enjoy that the lights weren’t dimmed since it was already 9PM. They seated us, but after being installed decided to change us to different tables. There’s 3 waiters and they served one soup at a time, My partner ended up eating his soup cold because I had to wait ten extra minutes before finally getting mine. They don’t tell you there’s any sauces you have to find out on your own. I also asked for a fork an the waiter brought it to me while touching the eating part of it with his bare hands. Amazing free ice cream though! Wish there was also a visible image of the boils, so everyone could understand what they are going to expect.

I was impressed by the wide variety of vegetables, noodles and tofu available to choose from, although I wish the bland tofu had been marinated. The sauce bar also had lots of seasonings and toppings. You pick your ingredients yourself with tongs, then a staff member weighs your bowl and you pay by weight. We all had a hard time finishing our giant bowls of soup, so add fewer ingredients than you think you'll need. The decor is very chic. Expect a wait at the door to get a table and an even longer wait to get your hot pot back from the kitchen. The taro ice cream is free with your meal.

Terrible place, don't waste your time and money. They've raised their prices so much that it's not worth it anymore, and they added so many tables you can barely walk in there. Greedy business. The service is also terrible. We had to wait so long to get seated even though we were on the waitlist, and again waited so long for the food. The staff are also horrible. It says unlimited ice cream but when we asked for seconds the server the tall black guy gave me an attitude saying "really? again?" and never brought it for us waiting so long until we left.

Hello Erfan, Sorry for the unpleasant experience. Could you send us a email regarding the date and time of your visit for our investigation? We suggest our customers to join the online waitlist before yiurbvisit, so that you could plan the time of travel base on the estimated time and this would definitely less time consuming. Good when they first opened. Now, it’s horrible. First, tables are so close together that it’s so likely a server will spill hot soup all over you. There was a very rude server, tall black dude who refused to serve us. He was dismissive and made weird comments. They should hire better people. Wouldnt come back again. A shame because the food is ok.
