HORRENDOUS SERVICE LIKE 20 min of waiting for each course and 30 min of waiting for the bill. Its crazy for the price you pay of over 300$ for a base meal for two people its actually crazy. I will never come here again.

Hello Mateo, We want to clarify a few important points for accuracy. Our winter 4-course menu is $100 per person. The “over $300 base meal for two” mentioned in your review does not reflect our actual pricing structure. The $30 per person deposit is credited toward beverages, and optional window seating is $10 per person. There is no additional hidden charge for the meal itself. Regarding pacing: a structured 4-course dinner is not served all at once. A 15–20 minute interval between courses is standard sequencing in multi-course dining, especially on high-volume evenings. That timing is intentional and consistent with how this type of experience operates. If the bill took 30 minutes to arrive, that is longer than it should have been. That part will definitely be attended and corrected as we're aware who served you. Our winter setup is also unique — the vessel remains docked and is specially adapted with significant heating installations to operate in cold temperatures, despite not being originally built for winter service. It is a particular configuration, and part of the overall experience guests are choosing. We stand by the structure of our service and pricing, and we continuously adjust operational efficiency where needed. — Bateau-Mouche Management

Jason, Straight to the point — we like that. Thank you for highlighting the ambiance, the service, and the overall experience. That’s exactly the balance we work to deliver, especially during our winter season. We look forward to welcoming you back. — L’équipe du Bateau-Mouche

The dome is very nice, well-prepared and the view is beautiful, however the main course arrived almost cold and took an hour longer to arrive after the appetizer. The staff explained that the kitchen prioritizes those on the boat, so those in the dome have to wait longer to be served. I bought it as a birthday present for my partner, but the staff gave us a menu with prices, which is rude, considering you already agreed on the price and chose how many courses you want when you make the reservation and pay in advance. For the price you're paying for the experience, I thought it would be better. Paying more than $300 for the night and receiving cold meat after waiting an hour for the main course... it's not worth it in my opinion.

Hello Miss Carvalho, We’re sorry for the situation you experienced. The boat and domes are a challenge to operate in the winter but we make every possible efforts to keep it fair for everyone. I’d like to mention that that choice of course wasn’t decided upon reservation, this is done within the dome itself and the meals are paid at the end of the sitting. We’re sorry you were unsatisfied with your event. Hopefully, you still enjoyed yourself. Management

My boyfriend and I flew in to Montreal for a romantic New Year’s getaway and booked Le Bateau-Mouche hoping for a special, memorable dining experience on NYE. Unfortunately, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. When we arrived for our reservation, we were told to wait outside in the cold for over 30 minutes. Guests were clearly frustrated and confused, and there was no organization or communication from staff. Once seated, we were packed in extremely tightly—so much so that my chair was constantly being bumped by people trying to squeeze past throughout the night. The service was, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve ever experienced. It took 20 minutes for our server to even introduce himself. When I asked a simple question about a cocktail ingredient, I was told he was “far too busy” to explain anything that evening. I had been looking forward to a curated cocktail experience but instead ordered something I was familiar with. We waited another 20-25 minutes for drinks to arrive. The DJ played music so loudly during dinner that we had to shout just to hear each other. Several guests asked for the volume to be turned down, but nothing changed. The New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu also became an issue, as we had an allergy at the table. When we asked if accommodations could be made, the server sighed audibly and questioned whether the allergy was even real. He said he would check with the chef and that we'd be lucky if anything could be done. I was asked how I wanted my beef cooked and requested medium, only to be rudely told that only medium-rare or well-done were options. While I understand kitchen limitations on a busy night, the way this was communicated was unnecessarily abrupt. To make matters worse, my boyfriend’s soup course was skipped entirely, the pacing of the meal was completely off, and my soup arrived cold. Overall, the food was just okay—certainly not worth the experience. We did enjoy the ambiance and the lights on the boat and truly tried to make the best of the evening despite everything. At one point, the servers' attitude and situation became so absurd that it felt like we were being punked. I asked for our bill in time to step outside for the fireworks, but the request was flatly refused. Stating he was once again too busy to deal with it even though we gave him amble notice. Then, incredibly, the DJ missed the New Year’s countdown altogether. All in all, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Thank goodness for good company—without it, the night would have been a complete loss.

Jan 2026 Came for the frosted dome experience. Service was 10/10, the guys were super friendly and attentive. Environment and atmosphere was magical at night. We didnt feel cold at all, heaters and blankets were provided and we didnt feel the need to use them, but they warned us ample times so we dressed warm. Only half a star deduction is for the food itself. Again credit to the team, they use this ingenious method of transporting foods in big thick bags and carts and obviously the labour and service is appreciated. But naturally with food being walked outside in -20 its going to get cold. So do not expect a piping hot fresh out the kitchen meal. Our steak was warm but not hot and gets cold easily and quickly in our dome if we took our time to eat. Lastly another half a star deduction for the overall price. You pay a fee to book the experience (over $100) and then you pay table d'hote (119$) and then you pay for extras like 8 oz steak (which is totally optional) so overall for two people you're spending well over $250 easily at MINIMUM. We got drinks too so you're looking at $450 + tax and tip. Its a once a year experience which we don't mind paying and obviously its old port prices but still damn that hurts the wallet.

I got the duck and it was amazing!! It was a tad bit dry but still good even alone. However, when you pair it with the sauce and mashed potatoes, it was phenomenal! I got an Amaretto Sour and a Pink Paradise and they were both such amazing drinks! The service was nice but it would’ve been nice to be checked on a bit more throughout the night. It also took a while to receive our drinks and they took the water bottle and didn’t refill it until the end. Our server Mary was amazing as well!! she was super kind and helpful! The place is beautiful and I would definitely dine here again!

A thoroughly enjoyable evening! The food was top shelf and arrived at the perfect temperature. I had the duck as my main course - one of the best meals I’ve had in a while! Our server, Felix, was personable, friendly, very informative about the whole experience and just a pleasure to deal with. If you’re worried the food is sub-par or the service too slow, don’t be! I was here last year and am dining here again in 3 weeks- this is an absolute Montreal winter experience you must try! 😁

The location on the water and the snowy ambiance during our dinner was magical! The Felix and Elijah were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu options. The fairy lights, furry blankets, and heaters provided truly made our experience one to remember on a snowy winter night in Québec!

My boyfriend and I had dinner on the boat last weekend. We both ordered the fillet mignon and had the soup to start. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, and probably one of the best steaks we had both ever eaten. The drinks were amazing. The staff was attentive and polite, and even offered to take photos of us, for us when they saw us trying to take a selfie. It has a really nice atmosphere and I highly recommend checking it out

I didn't expect anything other than a view and probably "ok" and colder food than inside of a restaurant. Well, it was a pleasant surprise. I'm glad I didn't get influenced with some of the negative comments here. You need to acknowledge the physics and logistics and then you can appreciate or do a constructive criticism. Its outside. Its cold between the dome and kitchen. They have some equipment to carry the stuff without losing too much heat etc but the time it takes from the kitchen to your table won't give you a sizzling salmon or steak in your plate, but you won't eat ice cold, no worries. Service speed. They could have different ways to optimize the time for order and delivery, with the distance etc, it should be electronic and what not, some will say, at the same time, you are here to enjoy the view, you rent the space for a few hours and just relax! Yes there's always room for improvement. They might miss some small details like pour you water but you can do it yourself, if you get triggered for things like that, you're missing on the experience. Temperature. We were there at about 0 degree celsius. Heaters inside the dome.did the job. Never got cold. Staff was super nice and friendly. Tip them considering if you would do that kind of work in this temperature and they diserve every dollar even if your beer takes 10 minutes to arrive. Environment/mood. Magical. Silence. Beautiful and more space than anticipated. I loved this. No crying baby or loudmouth next to us, no dramma, just some quality time with my GF as I was looking for something different than the usual restaurant. Would I recommend? Yes. But Calibrate your expectations.and relax. Will I come again? Most probably for a special event. Is it expensive? Well, its not cheap. Its not outrageous considering the setup, electricity (not only 1 fan but several), rental and logistics involved. Thanks guys for a nice evening!

Overall, I had an amazing experience. It was new year's eve and they were extremely understaffed. The workers tried their best but I did wait over an hour just for my first drink. The food was decent. Im sure the people in the boat had better service than the people in the domes. I would definitely do it again on a day that isn't so busy.
