Fast delivery: pizza special and reopening in Mile-End

Pizza lovers will have something to rejoice about this Fast Delivery because we have two good news for them. Read below to understand better. Also, we highlight the reopening of La Catrina and its new menu.

First, Pizzeria NO.900's executive chef, Mirko D'Agata, and his head of research and development, Fiodar Huminski, won first and second place at the International Pizza Challenge in Atlantic City on October 2. Fiodar Huminski was crowned champion in the Neapolitan STG category with his Margherita pizza while Mirko D’Agata took second place with his Marinara pizza. The Pizza Expo, home to the International Pizza Challenge, is a major event in the pizza industry, bringing together pizza makers from around the world. Both chefs had previously won awards in pizza competitions, with Mirko D'Agata becoming World Champion in the Roman Pizza category in 2019. Pizzeria NO.900 had also achieved AVPN certification for authenticity a year ago .

Secondly, Welldun Pizza is this new pizzeria located on Wellington Street in Verdun, founded by the couple Danny Perez and Anaïs Braye. They embarked on this adventure after being together for 16 years, married for 13 and raising three children. The location opened in August 2023, offering a variety of pizza styles, including New York, Grandma, Sicilian and Detroit-style.

The doughs are prepared with a poolish base, requiring fermentation for 12 to 16 hours. The success of Welldun Pizza is attributed to the passion of Danny, the co-owner, who honed his pizza skills in Italy, the United States and Montreal.

The restaurant offers high quality pizzas in a variety of styles. It is possible to take away or deliver, but the establishment also has a few tables for those who wish to enjoy their pizza on site. Welldun Pizza has already attracted media attention, notably from the show “Curieux Bégin”. An address to add to the list of pizza lovers in Verdun.

Finally, the iconic Mile-End restaurant, La Catrina, reopened its doors after several months of closure, welcoming fans of Mexican cuisine with a new menu and colorful decor. The fall-winter menu features Mexican dishes made with local and seasonal produce, perfect for cold temperatures. Dishes include braised lamb shank, grilled poblano soup, fresh fish, grilled rib steak and a variety of tacos. Visit the restaurant on Taco Tuesday, where you can share a board of 10 tacos of 5 varieties for $50 and enjoy discounted margaritas. A great opportunity to savor delicious Mexican specialties at La Catrina restaurant in Mile-End or in the emblematic branch in the Old Port.
