Fast delivery: cheese curds in France, the fight against food waste and welcome to Forty 7

Here is a quick delivery of a trio of news about Quebec's restaurant industry:

It will now be possible for our French cousins ??to get cheese curds at home! Fromagerie St-Guillaume has just concluded an agreement to export its flagship product, offered since 1940, on the Old Continent. As soon as the cheese of the day is ready, it is placed in being freezing and it takes the road to Europe where it will be sold as well. Once thawed, it finds all the flavor and the same noise that we are so used!

Since 2003, Montreal's leading hotel chains, including the Delta Montreal Hotel, Marriott, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Hilton DoubleTree Montreal, Hotel Nelligan, Omni Mont-Royal Hotel, W Montreal, and Sofitel Montréal le Carré Doré, are participating in a program to fight against food waste. This food recovery service allows them to dispose of surplus food more easily in order to feed people in need. Last year alone more than 4000 meals were served.

Do you believe that such a program should be established for all sectors of the catering industry as a whole?

The 47th Parallèle restaurant in Quebec officially becomes Le Quarante 7. "The establishment, completely revamped, now offers several sections each offering a renewed experience. A lounge area decorated with numerous velvet armchairs and brass accessories welcomes guests to enjoy a drink or a bite in the early evening. There is also an imposing bar, both chic and inviting, with its golden accents giving it a mid-century style. Two distinct sections serve as a dining room; the more traditional one offers seating around sloped tables, while the other is refined but comfortable, where guests have the opportunity to have dinner on the imposing tweed armchairs with blue accents.
