Chez Cora and Eggsqui, chain restaurants specializing in breakfasts, will address shortly the Superior Court about alleged plagiarism. Cora is pursuing a franchisee Eggsqui in Mascouche that have copied some meals.
Cora has 55 restaurants in Quebec and Eggsqui counts 34. Cora says that food invented in own kitchen are protected by copyright. Just as a text or a musical.
The names of the plates, the recipe and presentation of some dishes are identical. Everything should be resolved at the beginning of October.
