La Cité Agricole unveils its festive and gourmet sugar shack

For a second consecutive year, La Cité Agricole is offering families a gourmet and festive adventure this spring during the sugaring-off season. Every weekend from March 12 to April 23, 2023, the cozy dining room of the Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures farm will take on a festive air to bring together small and large groups around feasts that are both authentic and refined. With two services a day on Saturdays and Sundays, at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., the festive Cabane with its signature decor, suitable for all seasons, offers a gourmet experience by reservation, including a hearty animated meal in a reinvented traditional atmosphere.

MENU & CONCEPT

Agricultural farm promoting its own market gardening and ethical meats from its breeding in small batches of free-range animals, La Cité Agricole relies on the know-how of its associate chef Sébastien Labrie-Lacroix to revisit the traditional sugar menu with tact. . Through a signature meal offered at a fixed price, the traditional crushed pea soup with pulled pork, homemade creton, ham braised in the renowned Sortilège whiskey, homemade bread, marinades, bines in syrup, homemade sausages with pasture-raised pork, but also chicharrons with BBQ spices, maple bacon twists, crispy sourdough pork rillettes, Gordon Ramsay-style eggs and many other surprises. The menu, offered at a lower price for children and available with vegetarian options on request, also includes a glass of bubbles as an appetizer and nothing less than a tree of maple meringues and a decadent dessert bar where pudding unemployed, churros and, of course, maple taffy, make the fun last!

In addition to the delights of the table, the Festive Cabane of La Cité Agricole offers guests private tables, unlike traditional sugar shacks, and entertainment to the sound of animated rigadoons, wooden spoons and the crazy character of Maria Black hock. The bar manager of the farm, Joelle Giard, also offers a seasonal mixology menu with a skilful selection of 100% local spirits and beers, as well as organic wines. For the whole month of March, the Cabane team is happy to pay for the tour for groups of eight adults or more by offering them Le Gallon du Mixologue, a refreshing homemade lemonade with alcohol. It is also children of all ages who can take advantage of their outing to the Cabane to visit the outdoor woodsman course, have fun in the inflatable games, taste s'mores around the outdoor fires, take a ride in tractor and more!

The outdoor site of La Cité Agricole is indeed a place in constant celebration, allowing all passers-by wishing to make a simple stop to have a drink at the outdoor bar or enjoy a tempting maple poutine. Thanks to the sound system throughout the grounds, everyone will have their hearts set on the party, both in the Cabane and outside!
