Fast delivery: new habits and always uncertainty in the industry

We have spoken at length in recent weeks about the uncertainty surrounding the future of restaurants due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also reported on the many changes in habits that consumers could adopt when the containment is completely lifted. Let's come back to these two points quickly in this new fast delivery!
Change in habits
A recent survey of 1,005 Americans uncovered interesting details that could no doubt apply to Quebec as well. The Hunter firm wanted to compare their eating habits in times of crisis.
First, the data to remember for all those working in the restaurant industry: 51% of respondents said they wanted to continue cooking more when the deconfinement was official. Will they be able to maintain this trend and, above all, avoid for how long a visit to a restaurant? That remains to be seen…
In fact, the majority of respondents confirm that they have been cooking more since the start of the crisis, among other things to save money, to eat healthier, to try new recipes and for the relaxing effect that this brings.
The use of fast food, takeout and delivery is increasing for some consumers but is decreasing for others.
Do you believe that these results also reflect Quebec consumption?
Microbreweries
It is still uncertain for most restaurateurs in the province about their future. But this is also the case for microbreweries, which also have to find ingenious ways to seek new sources of income.
Microbreweries do not necessarily run a restaurant or bar in addition to making their beers. Thus, since the dining rooms of their customers' restaurants are closed, orders are down. In addition, as festivals and sporting events are canceled for the summer, the fear is doubled.
Those who also have a dining room can turn to take-out orders and delivery for minimum sales.
For those who can continue to do business, another uncertainty comes to strike them: that of the lack of bottles! Remember that most collections in grocery stores and convenience stores have been on hiatus since the start of the pandemic.
Did you know that since 2014, the number of breweries has doubled in Quebec?
