Fast delivery: A price, results and figures

Fast delivery: A price, results and figures

In this new rapid delivery, we will highlight the awards won by Pit Caribou, we will unveil the results achieved by the Cage and we will analyze the effects of the crisis on delivery services.
First, the Pit Caribou microbrewery team received five awards at the Brussels Beer Challenge in Belgium, one of the most prestigious international competitions in the brewing world. The Gaspésienne No. 13, the Blonde du pêcheur, the Gose du Barachois and the Bonne Aventure were crowned with gold while the new Conquereor, brewed only a year ago, won a bronze medal. It is possible to taste these beers at the microbrewery located in L’Anse-à-Beaufils as well as at its pubs in Percé and Montreal.
Also, the Sportscene group unveiled the results of its last quarter, figures not very shining for the owners of the Cage, Brasserie sportive. Over the past year, revenues have fallen by 80% at its 37 establishments and had to thank 2,000 of its 2,500 employees. Despite everything, President Jean Bédard wants to be optimistic in trying to see the opportunities and new ideas that this crisis can generate. According to him, there is a bright side awaiting them after the holidays.
Finally, and this is not a surprise to anyone, the demands for deliveries have skyrocketed since last March. On average, per restaurant, we are talking about an increase of more than 70%. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the busiest days for delivery people. During this period, more delivery vehicles are on the road and restaurants are hiring dozens more. While the delivery service allows restaurateurs to maintain a regular cash flow, it cannot fully compensate for the closure of dining rooms. In some places, cooks dismissed a few weeks ago have agreed to take the wheel to help and thus find their jobs.
